NEW YORK CITY: Thousands Rally In Times Square Against Iran Nuclear Deal

The Jerusalem Post reports:
An estimated 10,000 people turned out at New York's landmark Times Square on Wednesday in protest over the Iran nuclear deal signed last week. They urged the US Congress to reject the agreement brokered in Vienna to rein in Tehran's atomic program. Speakers at Wednesday's rally included New York's former governor George Pataki, Jerusalem Post senior contributing editor Caroline Glick, former Manhattan district attorney Robert M. Morgenthau, former congressman Allen West and Steven Emerson, founder of the Investigative Project on Terrorism. Pataki addressed the crowd, saying that "this isn't a bad deal, it's a God-awful deal, it must be rejected. Congress must do its job and stand up for the American people, stand up for our safety and say 'no' to this Iranian deal." Claiming that "we know what the outcome of this deal will be," Glick said that "our responsibility as free men and women is to stand up and ensure the security and continuity and strength and morality of the United States of America."

Allen West Mulls Runs For President

"A diamond is but a rock until it undergoes intense pressure and heat. Steel is purified by intense heat. We cannot seek to live a life where our goal is to go from one oasis to another. Sometimes we have to cross a desert in order to develop inner strength. Many are asking me to consider a huge undertaking. If God had not placed a challenge before me and closed one door, perhaps a new mission would not be possible." - Former Rep. Allen West, in a blog posting that right wing sites are interpreting as his acknowledgement that he is considering a run for president.

West was elected to Congress in the 2010 Tea Party wave and was booted back out by voters after just one term. Last year he left the right wing PJ Media network after he allegedly harassed a female staffer with an anti-Semitic slur. Some sources say he was fired, West says he left to "pursue political aspirations." West first gained national attention when he faced an Army court martial for abusing an Iraqi prisoner. He was allowed to retire and pay a fine rather than be tried.

In the above-linked post West attempts to link his Army scandal to Benghazi.
Many of those who watch CNN and MSNBC castigate me as a “war criminal.” I find this hilarious and absurd. I wonder what they call a person who, instead of taking an action to save American lives, took no action at all? Matter of fact, said individual allowed four Americans under Islamic terrorist attack to be murdered. As far as we all know, said individual went to sleep due to a strenuous schedule of campaign fundraising events the following day.

Not only that, but said individual then proceeded to lie about their non-actions and cast blame elsewhere. When I was asked, during the Article 32 hearing, if I would take the same action again, perhaps I should have blamed my actions on a video and all would have been fine? Instead, I responded, “If it is about the safety and lives of my men, I would go through hell with a gasoline can.”

To the useful idiots and mindless liberal lemmings who refer to me as anything other than Lieutenant Colonel, Retired, Allen B. West — with 22 years of honorable service, rank, and benefits — you are delusional and confused. You criticize me, a commander who stood up for his men, while you embrace a cowardly commander-in-chief, Barack Hussein Obama, who did nothing while Americans died. It is both disgusting and despicable.
Good grief.

CPAC M4M #3

"Patriots! What an incredible day today was! Christie and Jindal and some great sessions. I am ready to unwind and have some fun. I am looking to make one of my biggest fantasies come true. Me: Police Uniform. You: Army Uniform. I want you to bring a couple other guys for this fantasy too! We begin by you storming into my room with the other guys. The other guys will proceed to beat me (paddles, whips, floggers is up to them! or be creative ;-)  After I have been beaten, I want you to threaten my life and tell me that I am going to die for what I did. I got a nerf gun for this fantasy and I want you to blindfold me and place a garbage can next to me. Here is the most important part...  Shoot the nerf gun at the garbage can and NOT me. I want to feel like you are going to shoot me but at the last moment you do not. It may seem like a crazy fantasy but we all have our kinks. Afterwards we can hj, bj and a2m." - Craiglist DC M4M.

Allen West: Obama Despises White People

"The US Department of Justice under Eric Holder will use its power to enforce 'civil rights protections; in school disciplinary actions. In fact, the DoJ and DoEd are putting schools on notice that they are prepared to use their authority to investigate the claims of racial disparity in the punishment of students. This is my clear and succinct message to white Americans. How long will it be before 'you people' realize you have elevated someone to the office of president who abjectly despises you — not to mention his henchman Holder. Combined they are the most vile and disgusting racists — not you." - War criminal Allen West, who was recently fired by a right wing news outfit for making anti-gay Semitic remarks to a female staffer. West's blog post was lauded today by World Net Daily.

Right Wingers Attack Alan Grayson Over Burning Cross Tea Party Image

Rep. Alan Grayson this week used the above image to illustrate a fundraising email and outrage is, uh, flaming across the bag-o-sphere.
Jorge Bonilla, the Republican challenger to Alan Grayson (D-FL), told Breitbart News on Tuesday that Grayson’s use of a burning cross, a reference to the Ku Klux Klan, in an effort to fundraise off an anti-Tea Party email is unseemly. “The depiction of burning crosses in Congressman Alan Grayson's most recent fundraising ask is despicable and needlessly hurtful to the many millions of families that still deal with the wounds of racial prejudice,” Bonilla said in an email. “Such times as these call for our elected officials to be uniters."
War criminal Allen West is especially furious.
“Having been born and raised in Georgia, having parents that were born and raised during the 20s and 30s, I remember growing up and seeing that burning cross on a clear night atop of Stone Mountain so that everyone could see it across Atlanta,” West said. “This is despicable. This is demeaning. This is disgusting,” he continued. “We all know that Alan Grayson is pretty much a sensationalist and he can continue to say things that are over the top.” Then he wondered where the civil rights leaders were during this. “But my concern is where is the NAACP and Ben Jealous? Where is the National Urban League and Marc Morial?” he asked.
Grayson has refused to apologize, saying, "If the hood fits, wear it."
While Tea Party members have been caught using racially-inflammatory language and imagery on multiple occasions, Grayson offered specific examples in a separate interview with the Sentinel. “When the president visited my home of Orlando, Tea Party protesters shouted ‘Kenyan Go Home,’” Grayson told the Sentinel. “Other examples include Tea Party chants of ‘Bye Bye Blackbird’ and Tea Party posters saying ‘Obama’s plan: White Slavery.’ One could go on and on, because there is overwhelming evidence that the Tea Party is the home of bigotry and discrimination in America today, just as the KKK was for an earlier generation.”

Allen West Fired At PJ Media?

Tea Party icon and former US House Rep. Allen West is leaving the right-wing PJ Media. According to some reports, West was fired after making an anti-Semitic remark to a staffer. Via Buzzfeed:
In a message to staff, West wrote: “Shortly, I will be giving up my position as director of programming at Next Generation.TV to get back on the front lines to expand the message of constitutional conservatism across our country.” Two sources familiar with what happened told BuzzFeed that West had gotten into an argument with a female employee and called her a “Jewish American princess” while telling her to “shut up.” Reached by phone, West told BuzzFeed he was leaving his job voluntarily, though one source familiar with the situation told BuzzFeed he had been fired. He did not deny that an exchange with the employee had occurred, but said it hadn’t led to his leaving the company. “No, I didn’t get fired,” West said. “I’m leaving to pursue political aspirations. That’s it. There’ll be a statement that comes out and it’s effective in October.”
West did not deny claims about the alleged remark and merely confirmed that "there had been an exchange." So to sum up his career, West was charged with assaulting prisoners while in the Army, was fired from the House, and now, apparently, even the wingnuts can't deal with him.

Wingnuts Furious With Lady Gaga

Over the weekend every site in Teabagistan erupted with condemnations of Lady Gaga for altering the final line of the national anthem when she sang it at Friday night's NYC Pride event.  Her version: "The land of the free and the home for the gay." I posted the clip on Saturday and here it is again.

Allen West Launches 2016 Straw Poll

In a typically transparent bid to harvest emails for future money begs, crackpot Allen West has launched a 2016 GOP presidential straw poll. Among the choices: Donald Trump, Sarah Palin, Jeb Bush, Rand Paul, Scott Walker, and Rick Santorum. Ever the modest fellow, West does not include his own name on the list. I have a morbid interest in seeing who his followers select.

Allen West: I Might Run For President

Tea Party hero Allen West couldn't win a second term in the House, so naturally he thinks he's ready to be president. Via the wingnut National Review:
Colonel Allen West, the former Republican congressman from Florida and one of the reasons to join National Review’s Norwegian Fjords Cruise this summer, revealed that he is considering running for the presidency in 2016 on Sean Hannity’s radio program Tuesday. West, who lost his bid for Florida’s 18th congressional district in 2012 after a prolonged post-election battle over voter fraud, said that he will make himself “available to run” for any office he is called to serve in by the American people. “I don’t think we should ever elect someone who wants to be president,” the veteran stated. “We should elect someone who is called to be president.” West, it seems, is open to receiving that call.
And every political blogger says, "Please, please, please!"

Allen West Joins Fox News

And now for the most unsurprising news of the day. Via the Atlantic:
Outgoing members of Congress are rarely hard-pressed for jobs (even when they've gone out in disgrace). Tea Party star Allen West just accepted the one that was perhaps the most predictable: contributor to Fox News. The Hill quotes Fox's executive vice president of networking: "Representative West’s congressional and military experience along with his fearless approach to voicing key issues will provide a valuable point of view to the FOX News lineup." How unique that point of view will be on Fox News is open to debate.

Allen West: I Was Cheated

"The most important thing everyone has to understand is my voice is not going to be lost. We’ve gotten a lot of opportunities, a lot of offers, and we’re going to make sure we continue to have that platform. [...] I’m a warrior and I’m a statesman and I’m a servant of this republic. I’m not going away just because of a congressional race where he seems to have to cheat to beat me." - Soon-to-be former Rep. Allen West, speaking on Mark Levin's radio show. Audio at the link.

Allen West: I'm Like Lincoln

"Look, you know, God closes a door so that he can open up greater doors. I will continue to, you know, stand up and fight for this country. That’s my goal. I have two daughters, 19 and 16, and I want to make sure that they grow up in a great America that provides them all the opportunities that it provided to their mother and father. And always remember, Abraham Lincoln only served one term in Congress, too." - About to be former Rep. Allen West, speaking to NPR.
