ALABAMA: Ellen DeGeneres Calls For Donations To Retire Legal Debts Of Same-Sex Marriage Plaintiffs
From the Ellen DeGeneres Show:
Kim and Cari have been fighting for marriage equality in Alabama since 2008. Apart from their desire to bring equality to all of the citizens of Alabama, they’re fighting for their son, Khaya, and their right to be legally recognized as his parents. Their efforts have recently made incredible strides in Alabama, but their nearly decade-long battle has left them with many legal bills. You can help Kim and Cari, and their cause of equality in Alabama by making a donation to the LGBT Wave of Hope. Find out more about their story here, and make a donation right here.

Homophobic Pastor Fires Back At Ellen
Last week Ellen DeGeneres responded on her show to anti-gay Pastor Larry Tomczak, who wrote a Christian Post column in which he essentially accused her of using Taylor Swift to lure young girls into lesbianism. Yesterday Tomczak fired back in the below smirky clip in which he doubles-down: "Hollywood has a definite gay agenda and you are part of it."
RELATED: Christian Nightmares points out that in 2013 Tomczak was sued for physically abusing a woman over a 25-year period.
The Rev. Larry Tomczak, an associate pastor at Bethel World Outreach Church near Brentwood, Tenn., was named in a Maryland lawsuit that was filed against leaders of Sovereign Grace Ministries, a denomination Tomczak helped found in the 1980s and later left. The suit was originally filed in October by three alleged victims of abuse and was amended Friday (Jan. 11) to add five others. All eight were given pseudonyms. It alleges that Tomczak, who lives in Franklin, Tenn., and other church leaders covered up sexual abuse in the denomination and at a Christian school in Gaithersburg, Md., in the 1980s and 1990s. Tomczak also is accused of repeatedly assaulting a woman (who is given the pseudonym Carla Coe) with plastic and wooden sticks. The alleged abuse began when she was a child and lasted more than two decades. When the woman was an adult, the lawsuit claims, Tomczak beat her bare backside.Tomczak is also the author of God, The Rod, and Your Child's Bod, a book which advises Christian parents to beat their children. Check out the book's cover. Back in March 2014 I posted a clip in which Tomczak declares that "God is punishing effeminate men and mannish women."

Ellen Goes Straight For Halloween
"I like Halloween because it’s the one time of year you can dress up however you want, and pretend you’re someone you’d never be in real life. For me, that’s married to a man."

Catholic School To Destroy Party Invites Because They Show Ellen DeGeneres
A Catholic school in Pennsylvania is apologizing to parents after recalling party invitations that feature "poor role model" Ellen DeGeneres. The school's principal has vowed to destroy the invitations once they are returned.
It was "completely wrong" to use DeGeneres' picture because the lesbian celebrity "lives her life outside the teachings of the Catholic Church," St. Andrew Elementary School principal Nancy Matteo wrote in an email to parents on Tuesday. The text of the message was provided to Philly.com. In the email, Matteo says she was "obviously NOT thinking" when she let the invitation to the June 8 dance be distributed with DeGeneres’ photo. "Perhaps I was distracted by the Oscar," she wrote, calling the entertainer a "poor role model." "A role model, as defined by Webster's Dictionary, is a person who is unusually effective or inspiring in some social role, job, position, etc.," the email says. "This does not describe her at all. We work so hard to be good role models and then I go and do something stupid!"A spokesman for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia has also apologized: "All Catholic schools in the Archdiocese are firmly rooted in Gospel-based values and the teachings of the Church. As such, it is expected that any promotional materials developed by these schools would feature images and themes that correspond with their core mission and identity."

Out Issues Power 50 Ranking
Out Magazine today published its eighth annual ranking of the 50 most powerful LGBT people in the United States. Here's a bit of the list.
1. Ellen DeGeneres
2. Tim Cook
3. Rachel Maddow
4. Sen. Tammy Baldwin
5. Glenn Greenwald
6. Ryan Murphy
7. Neil Patrick Harris
8. Andy Cohen
9. Michael Sam
10. Robin Roberts
Homocon billionaire Peter Thiel is #13. Former RNC chairman Ken Mehlman is #18. Andrew Sullivan is #26. New to the list is DOMA attorney Roberta Kaplan at #47. Curiously missing from this year's ranking is closeted homocon blogger Matt Drudge, who ranked at #21 last year and at #16 in 2012. Since there's no obvious reason for Drudge to completely fall off the list in one year, I wouldn't be surprised if somebody got a cease-and-desist letter.
