Sen. John McCain To Code Pink Protesters: "Get Out Of Here, You Low-Life Scum"

Via The Hill:
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) called protesters "low-life scum," after they interrupted a hearing by calling for former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger to be arrested for war crimes. Protesters from the group Code Pink chanted, "Arrest Henry Kissinger for war crimes!" and raised signs in the air as Kissinger entered the Senate Armed Services Committee hearing room. McCain, the chairman of the committee, at first asked, "Could someone find out where the Capitol Police is?" Kissinger sat calmly in his witness chair, as protesters and photographers gathered around. The protesters were objecting to Kissinger's past roles in the Nixon administration during the Vietnam War, the bombing of Cambodia and other issues. As the protesters were led out by police, McCain said, "I've been a member of this committee for many years, and I've never seen anything as disgraceful and outrageous and despicable as the last demonstration." Finally, McCain said, "Get out of here, you low-life scum."
Whoa.

Allen West Mulls Runs For President

"A diamond is but a rock until it undergoes intense pressure and heat. Steel is purified by intense heat. We cannot seek to live a life where our goal is to go from one oasis to another. Sometimes we have to cross a desert in order to develop inner strength. Many are asking me to consider a huge undertaking. If God had not placed a challenge before me and closed one door, perhaps a new mission would not be possible." - Former Rep. Allen West, in a blog posting that right wing sites are interpreting as his acknowledgement that he is considering a run for president.

West was elected to Congress in the 2010 Tea Party wave and was booted back out by voters after just one term. Last year he left the right wing PJ Media network after he allegedly harassed a female staffer with an anti-Semitic slur. Some sources say he was fired, West says he left to "pursue political aspirations." West first gained national attention when he faced an Army court martial for abusing an Iraqi prisoner. He was allowed to retire and pay a fine rather than be tried.

In the above-linked post West attempts to link his Army scandal to Benghazi.
Many of those who watch CNN and MSNBC castigate me as a “war criminal.” I find this hilarious and absurd. I wonder what they call a person who, instead of taking an action to save American lives, took no action at all? Matter of fact, said individual allowed four Americans under Islamic terrorist attack to be murdered. As far as we all know, said individual went to sleep due to a strenuous schedule of campaign fundraising events the following day.

Not only that, but said individual then proceeded to lie about their non-actions and cast blame elsewhere. When I was asked, during the Article 32 hearing, if I would take the same action again, perhaps I should have blamed my actions on a video and all would have been fine? Instead, I responded, “If it is about the safety and lives of my men, I would go through hell with a gasoline can.”

To the useful idiots and mindless liberal lemmings who refer to me as anything other than Lieutenant Colonel, Retired, Allen B. West — with 22 years of honorable service, rank, and benefits — you are delusional and confused. You criticize me, a commander who stood up for his men, while you embrace a cowardly commander-in-chief, Barack Hussein Obama, who did nothing while Americans died. It is both disgusting and despicable.
Good grief.

Allen West Finally Concedes

Tea Party darling and accused war criminal Rep. Allen West finally conceded this morning after his supporters had spent two weeks accusing Florida election officials of sabotaging the vote counts.
In a statement, the Republican freshman said ‘‘There are certainly still inaccuracies in the results’’ but not enough to change the outcome, giving the race to Democratic newcomer Patrick Murphy. ‘‘While a contest of the election results might have changed the vote totals, we do not have evidence that the outcome would change,’’ West said. Murphy campaign manager Anthony Kusich said he was not aware of any concession call to his candidate, simply an e-mail that was publicly distributed. In his own statement, Murphy said he was ‘‘humbled by Congressman West’s gracious concession’’ and eager to get to work on behalf of all voters. "To those who supported my opponent, my door is open and I want to hear your voice,"  Murphy said.

More Madness In The Allen West Recount

Twitter's wingnuts are screaming bloody murder at this writing after Florida's St. Lucie County failed to finish their court-ordered recount by today's noon deadline, prompting Patrick Murphy's campaign to claim final victory over Rep. Allen West.
Under Florida law, the final certified results were due from all of the state’s 67 supervisors of elections today. If the results do not arrive on time, the certified unofficial results submitted last Sunday stand. Those results have Murphy winning by 0.58 percent. A spread of less than 0.5 percent would have triggered an automatic recount.  “Today at noon, it became clear Patrick Murphy will be officially certified as the next congressman from the 18th Congressional District,” Anthony Kusich, Murphy for Congressman campaign manager, said in a prepared statement issued around 12:40 p.m. “The voters have spoken and Patrick Murphy is once again the clear winner. It is beyond time to put this campaign behind us and put the interests of the people of the Treasure Coast and Palm Beaches first.”
The Palm Beach Post reports that West's supporters have charged into the St. Lucie election office screaming, "Count our votes!" West's lawyers have raced to a judge's office to demand an injunction against the state deadline. Numerous West supporters are claiming on Twitter that the county deliberately sabotaged a tabulation machine in order to miss the deadline. More on this later today as the story develops.

UPDATE: Election officials in St. Lucie are now saying that the deadline was met and that Patrick Murphy actually gained votes in the recount.
Murphy campaign senior advisor Eric Johnson was quick to reaffirm victory. "As far as we're concerned, this puts an end to it," Johnson said. "The West people demanded a recount. They got that retabulation and Patrick Murphy gained a margin of 242 votes. "This election is over," Johnson added. Mowery said the final count was 65,841 votes for Murphy and 52,704 for West. The results still are unofficial. "We are still evaluating how to handle this," West campaign manager Tim Edson said. "It's a unique case."

Wingnut Money Beg Of The Day

Just in from Breitbart News:
Dear Patriot, Conservative hero Allen West is in the midst of a brutal recount. His entire career hangs in the balance. The liberals threw everything they had at him in this election and couldn't defeat him outright. Please help Revive America stand up to defend Colonel Allen West right now! Please make an URGENT contribution of $35, $50, $75, $100, $200 or whatever you can today. And Allen West is getting very little help from the Republican Party. He needs grassroots conservatives to stand up today! Colonel West is a fighter. The liberals hoped he would just give up when his leftist opponent pulled ahead by a small margin. Allen West will not be thrown out of Congress without a fight! He will not be cheated out of his Congressional seat! But he needs ordinary Americans like you to stand with him in this battle. Please make the very most generous contribution you can to help keep Allen West in Congress. And please do it now. I know you're exhausted and disgusted with politics right now. You probably want to put this entire nightmare election behind you. However, Allen West is still fighting. And I think we should too.

Teabagger War Criminal Allen West LOSES

Tea Party freshman Rep. Allen West, the war criminal who famously claimed that there are 80 communists posing as Democrats in the U.S. House, won't have to sit with those pinkos any more.
Rep. Allen West (Fla.) lost to Democrat Patrick Murphy in one of the closest, nastiest races in the nation, according to MSNBC election projections. Despite out-raising Murphy nearly 5-to-1 and launching biting attacks on the Democrat, West fell short by just over 1,000 votes, with 97 percent of Florida's 18th District reporting, according to MSNBC. West, a Tea Party favorite, had not conceded, and it was unclear whether he would request a recount.
You know West won't be able to resist the drama and martyrdom of a recount demand.

Quote Of The Day - Desmond Tutu

"The then leaders of the United States [Mr Bush] and Great Britain [Mr Blair] fabricated the grounds to behave like playground bullies and drive us further apart. They have driven us to the edge of a precipice where we now stand - with the spectre of Syria and Iran before us. The question is not whether Saddam Hussein was good or bad or how many of his people he massacred. The point is that Mr Bush and Mr Blair should not have allowed themselves to stoop to his immoral level." - Desmond Tutu, calling for Bush and Blair to by tried for war crimes.

Former Liberia President Charles Taylor Found Guilty Of Crimes Against Humanity

Charles Taylor, the former president of Liberia and the one-time business partner of Pat Robertson, was found guilty today of a long list of war crimes, including crimes against humanity. Taylor faces life in prison.
His trial lasted five years, during which the court heard a catalog of horrific acts committed by rebels whom Taylor helped arm in Sierra Leone’s civil war. The war ended in 2002 after more than a decade of fighting and more than 50,000 deaths. The rebels backed by Taylor became particularly known for hacking off the limbs of their perceived enemies and carving words onto their bodies. They also recruited children to fight and terrorized the civilian population through rape, looting and burning down homes. Crucial to their campaign were the weapons they bought from Taylor and paid for with what came to be known as “conflict" or "blood" diamonds, because of their role in fueling conflict in Africa.
In 2010 prosecutors in the case claimed that Pat Robertson had lobbied the first Bush administration on Taylor's behalf in order to gain the rights to gold mines controlled by Taylor's war lords. Taylor testified that year that Robertson had indeed been his main political ally in the United States. According to pilots that worked for Robertson's Operation Blessings, planes that Robertson told 700 Club viewers were ferrying Christian relief supplies to genocide victims in Rwanda were in fact carrying mining equipment to Liberia.

RELATED: In February of 2012, Taylor's ex-wife, now a member of the Liberian Senate, proposed a death penalty for homosexuality. A weakened version of that bill is still pending.

U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Held In
Mass Slaying Of 16 Afghan Civilians

An unnamed U.S. Army staff sergeant is being held after he walked off base and went door-to-door shooting Afghan women and children to death. Both President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have issued public apologies to the Afghan goverment. CNN reports this afternoon that the suspect had only been in Afghanistan for two months before he "cracked" and went on yesterday's rampage. If found able to stand trial, the soldier could face the death penalty, although a U.S. soldier has not been executed for such a crime in several decades.

Rights Groups Jointly Demand That Canada Arrest George W. Bush For War Crimes

Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have issued to a joint call for Canadian authorities to arrest former president George W. Bush on war crimes charges. Duyba is scheduled to visit a British Colombia economic summit next week.
There is overwhelming evidence that Bush and other senior administration officials authorized and implemented a regime of torture and ill-treatment of hundreds of detainees in US custody, including at least two Canadian citizens. Under the Convention against Torture, Canada is obligated to prosecute individuals suspected of committing torture found in its territory if other countries have failed to do so. The Obama administration has failed to investigate allegations of involvement in torture by Bush or other senior administration officials, and none are expected.
The Vancouver Sun reports that Canada plans to ignore the demands.
"Amnesty International cherrypicks cases to publicize based on ideology. This kind of stunt helps explain why so many respected human rights advocates have abandoned Amnesty International," Immigration Minister Jason Kenney said. Kenney noted in an email that in the past, Amnesty had not asked for Canada to bar former Cuban leader Fidel Castro, even though the rights organization itself said he had presided over "arbitrary arrests, detention, and criminal prosecution."
