Eugene Delgadio & Pat Boone

Pat Boone is in Virginia today to help the reelection bid of teabagger state Del. David Ramadan. Delguadio crows: "I drafted Pat Boone to run for President of the United States some years ago, he in turn endorsed me for re-election and so he is familiar with Sterling and is a friend of Sterling. Sterling is honored that he would come again to work and help on Election Day 2013." (Tipped by JMG reader Blair)

Pat Boone Has The Sadz

"For over 200 years, we were the most successful, admired and envied nation in world history. Unashamedly, we declared ourselves to be a Christian nation, granting security and protection to all faiths, creeds and ethnicities. Our laws demanded obedience to the laws of God – because they had proven to be the best ever conceived for creating and maintaining a healthy, productive and fair society. Friend, our people have rejected the very same God and His way, and clamored after a king who has promised to provide, protect and lead them into a Promised Land where 'everybody has everything.' So that same God must take His hand off those who have rejected Him and allow them to reap the consequences." - Pat Boone, writing for World Net Daily.

Debby "You Light Up My Life" Boone's Husband Performs Gay Marriages

In early 1978 schlock-popper Debby Boone infuriated Grammy watchers when she won Best New Artist on the heels of the treacly You Light Up My Life, which had spent an insane ten weeks atop the Billboard singles chart the previous summer. Especially galling to the rockers who'd expected Foreigner to take Best New Artist was Boone's revelation that her song was actually about God and not a boy.

Boone went on to a successful career as a Christian artist, children's book author, and informercial pitchwoman. Today Boy Culture tips us to the upcoming issue of the National Enquirer, which reveals that Boone's husband has been performing gay marriages, something the paper claims her ardently anti-gay dad Pat Boone, who writes a column for World Net Daily, doesn't know about. We'll have to see if Debby Boone gets the Carrie Underwood treatment from WND editor Joseph Farah. I'm betting, she won't.

Pat Boone: Worst Person In The World

Last month I posted a lengthy excerpt from washed up singer Pat Boone's World Net Daily column in which he compared Prop 8 protesters to the terrorists who attacked the World Trade Center. Boone has updated his claims, now saying that the protesters are like the terrorists that attacked Mumbai last week, earning him the Worst Person In The World slot from Keith Olbermann last night. From Boone's latest World Net Daily pile of puke:
[I]t couldn't happen here. Could it? Look around. Watch your evening news. Read your newspaper. Are you unaware of the raging demonstrations in our streets, in front of our churches and synagogues, even spilling into these places of worship, and many of these riots turning defamatory and violent? Have you not seen the angry distorted faces of the rioters, seen their derogatory and threatening placards and signs, heard their vows to overturn the democratically expressed views of voters, no matter what it costs, no matter what was expressed at the polls? Twice?

I refer to California's Proposition 8. You haven't heard about the well-oiled campaign to find out the names of every voter and business that contributed as much as $1,000, or even much less, in support of Prop 8? You haven't heard about the announced plans to boycott, demonstrate, intimidate and threaten each one – because they dared to vote to retain marriage as between one man and one woman? You haven't seen, on the evening news, prominent entertainers and even California Gov. Schwarzenegger, urging the demonstrators on, telling them they should "never give up" until they get their way? Assuming you have become aware of all this, let me ask you: Have you not seen the awful similarity between what happened in Mumbai and what's happening right now in our cities?

Pat Boone: Marriage Equality Activists Are Like The World Trade Center Terrorists

"Marriage itself, the sacred institution around which all society is built, is being attacked and shaken. Yes, attacked with intent to contaminate it in a way that will eventually cause the collapse of American social order.

[snip]

"The first time the Islamic jihadists tried to destroy the WTC, they did it the smartest way – they attacked the foundations, down in the subterranean garages, planting huge bombs that would surely have toppled the massive buildings. But they were foiled at the last minute, and had to try again. So on Sept. 11 in 2001, 23 trained and disciplined terrorists attacked the Towers at a much higher and totally unexpected level. They commandeered some jetliners, filled with unsuspecting passengers, and plunged them into the upper floors of the Towers, accomplishing the unthinkable. Two giant buildings, with thousands of people in them, crumpled to the ground in cataclysmic annihilation.

[snip]

"And now a much greater shaking is affecting our national life. In a terrible pincer movement, an assault is taking place on two fronts simultaneously – one all-out attack on the foundations, the very pillars of our society, and the other on the executive suites in the ivory towers of business and finance. The jihadists in these organized, hugely funded attacks on our morality and virtue are not Middle Eastern – they're homegrown Americans who actually believe they're promoting a better America by destroying the foundations on which this nation was built!

"Recall that George Washington declared, 'Religion and morality are the twin pillars of liberty' … two foundational supports. Well, on one front, our jihadists would grant homosexual activity 'marriage rights', which outweigh the will of the majority and defy the societal structuring of all human history. On the second front, leftist political genetic engineers are moving into power, taking advantage of immoral and irresponsible greed in the economy to socialize industry and finance, and make Big Brother government everybody's boss and banker." - Washed up pop singer Pat Boone, in a WingNutDaily column titled Thank God For Earthquakes. Marriage equality, you see, is like the first attack on the foundation of the World Trade Center, and the economic crisis is like the second attack at the top.

Asshattery In The Boone-docks

Faded schlock star Pat Boone produced two homophobic recordings which were used to robo-dial voters urging support of Republican incumbent Ernest Fletcher in today's Kentucky gubernatorial race. The 30 and 60-second calls went to thousands of voters.

The 30-second call: “His opponent is so ultra-liberal he’s just been enthusiastically endorsed by C-FAIR, a prominent gay rights advocacy group. They’re convinced Beshear is their guy. Now you have to ask, ‘Do you really want Kentucky to become another San Francisco?’ Please re-elect Ernie Fletcher.”

The 60-second call. "Hello friends. This is Pat Boone - a fellow Kentuckian by descent from granddaddy Dan'l. I've always been proud of Kentucky's stance on patriotic, military and moral issues - a great heritage. Now, as an American and a Christian I'm very concerned about the upcoming governor's election. Ernie Fletcher is a typical Kentuckian. He's worked long and hard for the state, its people, and its traditions. And of course he's come under attack by political opponents. And now, he faces a man who wants his job, who has consistently supported every homosexual cause - same-sex marriage, gay adoption, special rights to gay, lesbian, bisexual even transgender individuals. The prominent gay advocacy group CFAIR just enthusiastically endorsed Beshear, knowing he's their guy. Kentuckians have already voted to amend the state constitution to prohibit same-sex marriage. Now, do you want a governor who would like Kentucky to be another San Francisco? Please re-elect Ernie Fletcher. This message paid for by the Republican Party of Kentucky."

Go here to listen to the 30 and 60-second recordings. Boone, a former darling of wingnut talk shows, temporarily lost favor with the Christianists in 1997 when he recorded the above-depicted album of heavy metal standards. Ironically, last year he released an album of R&B and disco covers titled, We Are Family.

UPDATE: Boone's boy loses.
