Christian Pastors: We Should Have A Rose Bowl Float That Features Stoning Of Gays

Right Wing Watch reports:
Pastors Kevin Swanson and Dave Buehner of Generations Radio were upset about a float at the Rose Bowl parade that included a married gay couple which, despite nasty attacks from anti-gay activists, went off without incident (and even won an award). Buehner was perplexed by the fact that the AIDS Healthcare Foundation sponsored the float, saying that its “pro-homosexual propaganda” would “spread AIDS.” He added: “I wonder what the Rose Bowl parade would do if we had the stoning of a homosexual along the parade just as an expression of free speech and all that.”

CALIFORNIA: Rose Bowl Parade's Gay Wedding Float Wins Award For "Color And Color Harmony"

Well, of course it did. During the 30 seconds that the float was onscreen during NBC's coverage, the two grooms atop the wedding cake waved, beamed, held hands, and generally seemed to be having a wonderful time. Parade host Al Roker: "A sincere shout-out to the newlyweds and the happy couples on the float." It's the end of America, people!

CA Haters Have The Rose Bowl Sadz

The virulently anti-gay Save California is calling on its followers to contact every sponsor of today's Rose Bowl Parade. They also asked their supporters to bring anti-gay signs to the parade and to boo the gay couple as they pass on their float.
On New Year's Day in the world-famous Rose Parade in Pasadena, California, these two practitioners of homosexuality will illogically proclaim themselves "husband and husband," and kiss on the lips to be seen by every child watching. This is outrageous and your protest needs to be recorded. If enough people speak out, perhaps the organizers and sponsors of the Rose Parade will not repeat this spectacle. Here are action steps suggested by SaveCalifornia.com and Boycott the 2014 Rose Parade. Please alert others who care about role models for children and know that marriage is only for a man and a woman. Contact the Tournament of Roses and tell them to please exclude this exhibition from the parade. Go to the Rose Parade Facebook page and add a comment about what you think about this. Here is a quick list of sponsors: Please call them and ask them to protest this idiotic decision. SaveCalifornia.com additionally suggests that spectators on the parade route either loudly boo, or bring and hold up signs reading "Marriage is ONLY for 1 man + 1 woman") or similar.
The parade is about half over at this writing.

The AFA Has The Rose Bowl Sadz

An urgent bulletin from the American Family Association:
The 2014 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California, will feature the "wedding" of two men and will take place aboard a float sponsored by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. Millions of television viewers will see two homosexual men take wedding vows on a float that will celebrate same-sex marriage. Rather than risk exposing your children to the blatant promotion of a sinful lifestyle this Wednesday morning, we urge your family to simply skip watching the entire network televised parade altogether. TAKE ACTION: Send a message to William Flinn, executive director of the Rose Bowl Parade, letting him know that you will not be tuning in to see this "in your face" promotion of homosexuality. Send Your Letter Now!
From the letter:
Dear Mr. Flinn: I am disappointed to know that the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade has allowed homosexual activists to hijack a traditionally family-friendly event. By allowing a so-called “gay marriage” ceremony to take place on one of the floats demonstrates your organization no longer respects families, children or the sanctity of natural marriage. For this reason, my family will not be watching the parade this year.
REMINDER: When Christianist groups call for nationwide boycotts of television shows or events and their advertisers, that is a righteous use of the free market in order to preserve morality, marriage, family, and the American way. But when GAY groups use or threaten the use of a boycott, THAT is homofascist intimidation, intolerance, bullying, a stifling of religious liberty, and an attempt to deny the freedom of speech. Just so we're clear.

Illinois Haters Have The Rose Bowl Sadz

"It isn't enough for homosexuals to have their own offensive annual parades every June in every major city dedicated to celebrating deviance. And it wasn't enough to ruin Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade for families with a live performance from a play that celebrates cross-dressing. No, it seems their goal is to ruin every public event for families by publicly celebrating perversion: Inquiring minds want to know if Christian leaders would remain similarly (and oddly) silent if the sin being celebrated were consensual incest or the enslavement of other humans? What should Christian leaders do when a biblical truth is dragged into the public square and into the political scene? And what should Christian leaders do when their flocks are being deceived by the pervasive dissemination of lies, including even the dissemination of lies to our littlest ones--lies which are darkening their minds and molding their hearts. If the church does not participate in exposing these lies, which are confusing even adults, who, pray tell, will?" - Laurie Higgins, head of the Illinois Family Institute, posting to their Facebook page. OMG! Gay Wedding! Boycott!

The AIDS Healthcare Foundation is sponsoring a same-sex wedding to take place atop a float in the coming Rose Bowl Parade. And that has some busybodies very upset.
Karen Grube, of San Diego, said the Tournament of Roses should remove the AHF float from the parade. She has also called on corporate sponsors to remove their support of the parade if the wedding goes on as planned. And, she has set up a Facebook page seeking support for her cause. “Gay marriage is illegal in over 30 states, why would they promote something that is blatantly illegal?” Grube said. “That’s just stupid.” The 2014 Rose Parade is the first where gay marriage has been legal in California, following a U.S. Supreme Court ruling in June that deemed Proposition 8 unconstitutional. Grube also said she didn’t think the Tournament should be involved in a group’s “political agenda.” “It used to be a family thing, to get up on New Year’s Day morning and watch the parade,” she said. “It no longer is.”
Here's the Facebook page for the boycott.
