Tim Tebow Cut By Patriots
Via ABC News:
After being let go by his third team in 18 months — and with the regular season just five days away — the quarterback's chances of immediately catching on with another team seem slim. The person spoke on condition of anonymity Saturday because the Patriots had not announced the move. It was first reported by ESPN. Tebow's stay with the Patriots lasted just under 12 weeks and could be the end of his NFL career. The former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback played in just three of New England's four preseason games and was sacked four times in the finale, a 28-20 win over the New York Giants on Thursday night.

Pastor Robert Jeffress: I Never Said All Those Things That I Totally Said
Responding to the Tebow flap, megachurch Pastor Robert Jeffress yesterday appeared on the Alan Colmes Show to dance around all the anti-Semitic, anti-gay, and anti-Catholic things he's said in the past. Colmes does a great job of quoting Jeffress right back to him.

Tim Tebow Caved To Big Gay
It was Big Gay that forced Tim Tebow to cancel his speaking gig. And not, definitely not, the criticism heaped on Jeffress for saying that "Satan runs the Catholic Church" and that all Jews and Mormons will spend eternity in a lake of fire.

Bryan Fischer: Tebow Is Now Going To Hell
"Instead of standing with the Christian leader of their day, the disciples of Christ fled like panicked sheep when he came under direct attack. I had thought and hoped Tebow was made of sterner stuff. Tebow needs to clarify and expand on his remarks immediately, and undo this disastrous decision. Dr. Jeffress is a man of unconditional love and will gladly receive him back. If Tim Tebow doesn’t reverse field here, much more than his NFL career is in jeopardy." - Hate group spokesman Bryan Fischer, responding to Tebow canceling his appearance at the megachurch headed by crackpot Robert Jeffress.
UPDATE: Jeffress is claiming that Tebow will reschedule "once the current controversy blows over."

Tebow Cancels Gig With Anti-Gay Church
Stand by for the howls of outrage as this is clearly the result of homofascism. Either that or Tebow is now aware that First Baptist Pastor Robert Jeffress has said that all Jews and Mormons will go to hell and that Satan runs the Catholic Church.

Virginia Senate Rejects "Tebow Bill"
The Virginia Senate Education Committee has narrowly rejected a bill that would allow home-schooled students to play sports at public schools. The proposed change was dubbed the "Tim Tebow Bill" because he was allowed to play football at a Florida public school while being taught at home.
The perennial proposal from Del. Rob Bell, R-Albemarle County, would achieve that by prohibiting public schools from joining an interscholastic governing body, such as the Virginia High School League, that bars home schoolers from public school sports. Bell’s HB 1442 passed the House of Delegates this year, as did a similar measure he sponsored last year before its defeat in the Senate. It was tackled again in a Senate committee, failing on an 8-7 vote when Republican Sen. Harry Blevins of Chesapeake, a retired high school principal, joined with the Democratic minority on the panel in opposition to the bill. Before the vote, a procession of home school students and advocates urged the panel to approve the bill. When one home-school advocate complained about not having access to public school sports paid for by his taxes, Sen. Richard Saslaw retorted, "You pay taxes that also go to purchase an F-22 fighter, that doesn’t mean you get to fly it." (Tipped by JMG reader Gerry)

Tim Tebow's Hate Date
On the left is how the New York Daily News headlines Tim Tebow's upcoming speech at the church of notorious crackpot and homophobe, Pastor Robert Jeffress, who may be most famous for telling the Values Voters Summit that "70% of all gay men have AIDS."
The wildcat quarterback is slated to speak at the 11,000-member First Baptist Dallas Church’s April 28 Sunday morning service, according to the church’s website. While Tebow is known for wearing his religion on his sleeve and his prayerful onfield gestures have been dubbed “Tebowing,” he’s made a practice of not offending his teammates with his faith. But Tebow’s peace-and-love message could be tested by the megachurch’s evangelical Christian pastor, the Rev. Robert Jeffress. He once accused gay activists of trying to hide “the link between homosexuality and pedophilia.” In November, the preacher warned his flock that President Obama’s reelection “would lead to a rise of the antiChrist.” While endorsing Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s presidential bid in October 2011, Jeffress bashed Islam, Judaism and Mormonism as heretical religions “from the pit of hell.”After Perry dropped out of the race, Jeffress decided that maybe all Mormons weren't hellbound sinners. He then endorsed Romney. When a New York City newspaper denounces someone like Jeffress as "anti-Jew," one wonders if Tebow even wants to keep playing here.

The Vatican Wants Tim Tebow
Benchwarmer-for-Jeebus Tim Tebow has been invited to join a just-launched Vatican crusade for "ethical values" in professional sports. Via Catholic News Service:
The Pontifical Council for Culture is planning to host an international conference on re-instilling values in sports this spring, inviting representatives from top world governing bodies like FIFA (the International Federation of Association Football), the International Cycling Union and the Italian National Olympic Committee. Msgr. Melchor Sanchez de Toca Alameda, head of the council's "Culture and Sport" section, told Catholic News Service Jan. 16 that pro sports "have become a commodity that is subordinate to the free market and, therefore, to profit." He said the council hoped its participant line-up would include two high-profile Christian U.S. sports stars: NFL quarterback Tim Tebow of the New York Jets, and NBA basketball player Jeremy Lin of the Houston Rockets. Instead of sports being an activity that builds important values, respects human dignity and helps shape the whole human person, "it has reduced people to merchandise," he said.Tebow has not yet responded to the invitation as he's busy hawking his $300 celebrity merchandise.

Tim Tebow Goes After Dr. Dre
Dr. Dre was named the world's top earning musician last year, primarily due to his hot selling line of headphones. Tim Tebow wants some of that action and he's in Las Vegas this week to hawk his own headphones at the massive Consumer Electronics Show. The Tim Tebow Soul Signature Series is available for pre-order at $224.99 each and "they’re also a stylish option for the tasteful traveler looking for superior noise cancelling technology." Perfect for books-on-tape like the you-know-what. Further crowding the celebrity headphones field is Snooki, who will also be at the show to plug her blinged-out line.

WND: Neil Patrick Harris Is Mocking Christianity With His Super Bowl Ad
According to World Net Daily, "homosexual actor" Neil Patrick Harris is mocking Tim Tebow, and by divine extension, Christianity itself with the above promo for the Super Bowl.
New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow won’t be playing in this year’s Super Bowl. But CBS, the television network airing the big game this year, is now using an outspoken homosexual actor to mimic Tim Tebow’s style of trumpeting messages in eyeblack on his face. During Sunday’s matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens, the network broadcast several spots promoting the network’s upcoming Super Bowl coverage in New Orleans. Tim Tebow, known for his Christian faith as well as football, became world famous for proclaiming Bible verses such as John 3:16 on his eyeblack, especially when he played for the University of Florida Gators before going pro. One football fan who watched the CBS promo Sunday made the connection between Harris and Tebow, saying, “They’re pushing a gay agenda by using him, and they’re mocking Christians at the same time.”WND goes on to reveal the shocking news that four years ago Harris won an award from the Trevor Project. Which is horrible! The top response in a readers poll attached to the story calls for a boycott of the Super Bowl and its advertisers.
