Brian Brown: Internet Meanies Are Trolling Ryan Anderson's New Anti-Gay Book

"An important new book has been published today that we highly recommend to you. Authored by Ryan Anderson, a great friend of NOM's and a scholar at The Heritage Foundation, the book 'Truth Overruled: The Future of Marriage and Religious Freedom' is a tour-de-force examination of the issues in the marriage debate and an enlightening reflection on what is at stake. Please consider purchasing a copy today. And if you agree with us that the book is extraordinary, please write a favorable review. As you might imagine, the 'haters' among our opponents are busy trolling the Internet to criticize the book because they realize that it is a powerful, principled witness to the truth of preserving marriage as the union of one man and one woman." - Hate group leader Brian Brown, in today's money beg.

Liberty Counsel Has The Florida Sadz

"As a result of the purposeful misinterpretation of Judge Hinkle’s now infamous 'clarification' in the federal case Brenner v. Scott, clerks of court throughout Florida began today issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples, disregarding their oaths to uphold the Florida Constitution. And despite appeals of Judge Hinkle’s ruling and the state court marriage cases waiting to be heard, Florida Circuit Judge Sarah Zabel yesterday lifted her own stay in one of those cases, Pareto v. Ruvin, to allow same-sex 'marriages' to begin immediately in Miami-Dade County. We are witnessing a decay of the rule of law. Judges are lawlessly conducting same-sex marriages. Judge Zabel should be ashamed and should face an inquiry, because her act of performing same-sex marriages for the litigants over which she presides betrays the public trust that judges should be impartial. Judge Zabel should be impeached." - Hate group leader Mat Staver, in a press release that also trumpets his having authored Florida's constitutional ban on same-sex marriage.

Local Haters Have The Arizona Sadz

"I am heartbroken for a country and a state that has had the redefinition of marriage forced upon them by an out of control federal judiciary. In what amounts to the de-facto Roe v Wade of marriage, voters throughout the nation have watched their voices be silenced, and their votes voided. Now, Arizona’s marriage amendment and our voters are the latest victims. While the United States Supreme Court may still take up the issue of marriage redefinition, for now the courts have settled the issue in our state. Today, we grieve. We grieve for the children who now have no chance of growing up with a mom and a dad. We mourn the loss of a culture and its ethical foundation. We mourn a culture that continues to turn its back on timeless principles. But we do not despair. We do not throw in the towel. We do not give up. Just as we have worked to build a culture of life, we will focus on rebuilding a culture of marriage as the union of one man and one woman.”- Cathi Herrod, head of the Center For Arizona Policy, the group behind that state's attempt to legalize anti-LGBT discrimination.

Brian Brown: I Am Now David And The Human Rights Campaign Is Goliath

"Right now I think folks who look at this issue and think that NOM or any of the groups out there supporting the traditional definition of marriage, that we’re the Goliath, and the pro-gay marriage Human Rights Campaign is the David — they’ve got the story in reverse. They are one organization among a whole platter of organizations like Freedom to Marry, GLAAD and all of these other groups that have almost unlimited access to the media and get their talking points across largely for free. But for us, it’s a lot more difficult and we’re up against a much bigger hurdle. I actually sort of relish that. It doesn’t matter to me whether it’s easier or harder or whether we have less money or more money. The real question is: are we standing up for the truth in marriage? And I’ve never had any question about that." - Hate group leader Brian Brown, speaking to NBC News. (Tipped by JMG reader David)

Robert Oscar Lopez To Fifth Circuit: Stop Gay Marriage Because I Was A Prostitute

Homocon horcrux Robert Oscar Lopez has filed a deranged amicus brief with the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in support of the ban on same-sex marriage in Texas. According to Lopez' brief, gay parents escape punishment for abusing their children because child welfare authorities fear appearing bigoted. The brief goes on to accuse Frontiers writer Karen Ocamb of "issuing an invitation for people to harass or even attack me physically" because Ocamb wrote a post which named his workplace, which is California State University-Northridge.

Lopez goes on whine about activists Jeremy Hooper, Wayne Besen, and Zack Ford for daring to describe him as "anti-gay." (Sadly, yours truly does not appear in the brief.) And then there's this recounting of Lopez' alleged days as a gay prostitute:
I believe it was around 1987 that I first had a man offer me payment in exchange for having sex in the back of his van. My first time being paid for sex brought me a mix of shame and further compulsion. I became a habitual sex worker by the age of sixteen in various cruising spots where older men told me I could find other customers; these included public parks, the bathrooms in 24-hour supermarkets, community sports centers, and certain spaces in Lockwood Library of the State University of New York at Buffalo, where I had sex with graduate students, janitors, and professors well over twice my age. The money I received for sex certainly helped me financially because it allowed me certain spending money beyond what I earned with my teenage jobs at a pizzeria and in my mother’s clinic. But the money was not as impactful as the fact that I needed to feel loved and wanted by an older male figure, even if for only as short as a half hour.
Much of the rest of the brief defends the debunked work of discredited researcher Mark Regnurus. Read the full brief in all its entertaining batshittery at Equality Case Files.

PREVIOUSLY ON JMG: In April 2014 Lopez filed an anti-gay amicus brief in support of Virginia's ban on same-sex marriage. Last March 2014 Lopez declared that gay men are turning surrogate mothers into breeding slaves. Last year, in addition to appearing on stage at an anti-gay Manif Pour Tous rally in France that was supported by neo-Nazis, Lopez testified against LGBT equality before several state legislatures and he co-signed an anti-gay homocon brief to the Supreme Court in support of DOMA. You really must read the Media Matters take on Lopez' trilogy of gay erotica.

Brian Brown: JMG Is Blasphemous And Totally Keeps Quoting Me Verbatim

"For GLAAD, of all groups, to demand for A&E to punish him [Phil Robertson] for these words manifests an irony that would almost be funny if it wasn't so offensive. The same organization, GLAAD, has awarded and celebrated the gay blogger, Joe Jervis (of the famous gay blog, Joe.My.G*d). Apart from the blasphemous and offensive title of his blog, Jervis makes a living saying hateful things about Christians and others who disagree with his views, and saying them often in a pretty crude and crass manner. Of course, Jervis is nothing in comparison with Dan Savage, whom we all know well for his hate-filled rants about Christianity (such as his statement that the Bible is "bulls**t"). And guess what? GLAAD has been just as cozy with Savage in the past as well!" - Hate group leading Brian Brown, who is super pissed about my motherfucking potty mouth.

Brian Brown Still Has The Hawaii Sadz

"How many folks still have common sense? Quite a few, actually. We've seen this common sense most recently in Hawaii where over ten thousand people came out in peaceful and prayerful protest against their legislature's decision to redefine marriage. In fact, we know that it is the vast majority of Hawaiians, and by no means the minority, who know that marriage is the union of one man and one woman — who know that marriage matters because the love of a mom and the love of a dad are equally invaluable to the well-being of a child. We know that a strong majority of Americans believe that marriage is the union of one man and one woman. We asked voters this question on Election Day 2012, and 60% agreed with the traditional definition of marriage. But you don't read that much in the media. We also know it from the overwhelming majority of votes that have been cast in states across America when voters have been given the opportunity to vote on marriage (something the people of Hawaii were sadly denied.) - Hate group leader Brian Brown, in a money beg that also whines about ENDA and transgender students.

Quote Of The Day - Orson Scott Card

"I’ve had no criticism. I’ve had savage, lying, deceptive personal attacks, but no actual criticism because they’ve never addressed any of my actual ideas. Character assassination seems to be the only political method that is in use today, and I don’t play that game, and you can’t defend against it. All you can do is try to offer ideas, and for those who want to listen to ideas, great. For those who simply want to punish you for not falling in line with their dogmas, there’s really not much you can do about it." - Ender's Game author Orson Scott Card, whining to the Deseret News, which is owned by the Mormon Church.

NOTE: Among Card's "actual ideas" is his prediction that President Obama is going to unleash "an army of urban thugs" on America.  And his plan for Christians to violently overthrow the federal government rather than submit to same-sex marriage.

Brian Brown Has The New Jersey Sadz

"It is extremely disappointing that the New Jersey Supreme Court has allowed the ruling of an activist judge to stand pending its appeal through the court system. The definition of marriage is something that should be decided by the people of New Jersey themselves, not by any judge or court. New Jerseyans should have the right to vote on this issue just as voters in nearly three dozen other states have done. In addition, the decision to allow same-sex ‘marriage’ to proceed even while the law is being tested in court is unfair both to the voters of the state and to same-sex couples themselves. If the state Supreme Court were to uphold marriage as they should do, then the validity of the ‘marriages’ that will be performed starting next week will be called into question. Further, the decision opens the door to a possible federal court ruling similar to what occurred in California in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal which held that once a state grants same-sex ‘marriage’ rights it can never take them away. All in all, today’s ruling is another sad chapter in watching our courts usurp the rights of voters to determine issues like this for themselves." - Hate group leader Brian Brown, hitting all the expected crybaby points.

HomoQuotable - Grace Harley

"I have suffered more discrimination and intolerance as an ex-gay than I ever did when I was gay. Many ex-gays are afraid to come out of the closet because of the harassment they will receive. Transgenders are celebrated for changing their gender but former homosexuals are ridiculed for changing their sexual orientation.  Ex-gays are denied their pursuit of happiness because they are persecuted. This irrational hatred of those who have overcome unwanted same-sex attractions creates misunderstanding and harm against the ex-gay community. Justice Kennedy, you protect gay people as an unpopular minority, but ex-gays are hated even by gays, so please protect former homosexuals like me. We need your protection and your compassion. To give sexual orientation protection to one group while excluding another is outright discrimination. This is not what our country is about." - Pastor Grace Harley, quoted today by World Net Daily.

NOM Has The Minneapolis Sadz

Posted today to NOM's blog:
Minneapolis mayor R.T. Rybak is launching an ad campaign encouraging Wisconsin same-sex couples to come to his town to 'marry'. The campaign, which will start running in Milwaukee and Madison area publications, is already being called a shameless attempt at self-promotion, with the mayor simply using marriage to raise his own profile. Keep in mind, Wisconsin voters passed a constitutional amendment in 2006 that protects marriage as husband and wife in their state. And as Wisconsin Family Action President Julaine Appling reiterates, "Our law would not recognize any validity to those (same-sex) marriages performed in any other state."
NOM must have missed that Rybak is also promoting Minnesota marriages to Illinois.

Brian Brown Has The Prop 8 Sadz

"The way that activist judges have dealt with Proposition 8 is a travesty of justice and undermines the rule of law and the democratic process itself. The legitimate votes of 7 million Californians, and their fair-minded, reasonable position that marriage should be defined as the union of one man and one woman, have been trampled underfoot by derelict politicians and activist judges. However, this is not the end of the debate. No judge or politician can redefine what God has created. NOM and our allies will work to make sure the people of California, and other states where marriage has been redefined have a voice speaking for true marriage. So-called same-sex 'marriage' is a political creation; it doesn't exist in reality. Eventually it will fall, and we will restore natural marriage in California." - Hate group leader Brian Brown, in his tenth case of the super-sadz in the last twelve months.

RI Bishop: Don't Go To Gay Weddings

"At this moment of cultural change, it is important to affirm the teaching of the Church, based on God’s word, that 'homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered,' (Catechism of the Catholic Church, #2357) and always sinful. And because 'same-sex marriages' are clearly contrary to God’s plan for the human family, and therefore objectively sinful, Catholics should examine their consciences very carefully before deciding whether or not to endorse same-sex relationships or attend same-sex ceremonies, realizing that to do so might harm their relationship with God and cause significant scandal to others." - Rhode Island Bishop Thomas Tobin, in a crybaby pastoral letter published today.
