Sophie B. Hawkins To Headline GOProud/Breitbart Party At CPAC
Andrew Breitbart's promised "Super Gay 80s CPAC Party" for GOProud will actually be headlined by openly bisexual 90s two-hit wonder Sophie B. Hawkins. (Depeche Mode and New Order must have been unavailable.) Hawkins is best known for her 1992 hit Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover, an appropriate metaphor for all that begging GOProud makes for Tea Party love. Via press release: “The Big Party will celebrate GOProud and the growth of a conservative movement that is focused on getting the government out of people’s lives,” said Jimmy LaSalvia, Executive Director of GOProud. “We are thrilled to have Andrew Breitbart join us in putting together what will be the party of the CPAC weekend.” “This party will highlight the story the main stream media has missed in the weeks leading up to CPAC, namely that the vast majority of the conservative movement is united and welcomes GOProud and any other conservative into the fold,” said Andrew Breitbart, a member of GOProud’s Advisory Council. “The truth is that it is liberals in America who are bent on dividing people, on forcing people into ideological boxes based merely on their race, religion, sex or sexual orientation.”Adding to the oddity of Hawkins' CPAC selection is that she was an ardent supporter of Hillary Clinton, even to the point of rerecording her above-cited trademark hit in support of Clinton's 2008 presidential bid.

FLORIDA: Anti-Gay Teabagger Marco Rubio Defeats Charlie Crist For Senate
Oh, what a world in which Charlie Crist was actually the better choice. Rubio, of course, is in the pocket of the Florida Family Policy Council, who were one of the main groups behind Amendment 2, which instituted a statewide constitutional ban on same-sex marriage. Rubio's decisive win has thrilled the repulsive quislings at GOProud, who've never met a disgustingly anti-gay candidate they didn't love.Labels: Charlie Crist, Florida, Senate, Tea Party, teabagggers
KENTUCKY: Teabagger Rand Paul Stomps His Boot On The Face Of The State
Matt Yglesias has the best tweet in reaction to the networks calling teabagger Rand Paul as the Senate winner from Kentucky: "Finally we have a Senator willing to stand up the tyranny of the Civil Rights Act!"Labels: Kentucky, Senate, Tea Party, teabagggers

FLORIDA: Democrat Alex Sink Improves To Tie With Teabagger Rick Scott
Some good news out of Florida, where the latest polls show Alex Sink improving to a toss-up with teabagger Rick Scott, whose hospital chain paid the largest federal fine in history for medicare fraud. Unsurprisingly, Scott is also the founder of an astroturf group lobbying for removing regulations on the hospital industry. If elected, Scott vows to block health care reform in Florida.Labels: 2010 elections, Florida, Rick Scott, teabagggers

Florida GOP Candidate Marg Baker Calls For Internment Camps For Immigrants
GOP Florida House of Representatives candidate Marg Baker wants to round up undocumented immigrants and put them in internment camps "like what happened in the 40's or 50's." Only that never happened, except in Baker's racist-fevered dreams. The Japanese interned in the 1940's and the Cubans interned in the 1980's were in the country legally.
