FLORIDA: Gov. Rick Scott Signs Bill Removing Unenforced Gay Adoption Ban

Florida's 1977 ban on gay adoption was struck down by a Miami-Dade County court in 2008. The state appealed that ruling, but it was upheld in a 2010 state district appeals court decision. Following that appeals court ruling then-Gov. Charlie Crist announced that the ban would no longer be enforced, but it took until earlier this year for the state legislature to formally strike the law. In March hate group leader John Stemberger sent a letter to all Florida legislators, telling them that the 2010 ruling only applies to the counties under the jurisdiction of the appeals court and that the Department of Children & Families is infested with pro-gay workers anyway. Stemberger had a lovely meltdown on Twitter last night following the governor's signing.

The Final Nail In Regnerus Study Coffin

Miranda Blue writes at Right Wing Watch:
In an upcoming article, a pair of sociologists are putting what they call the “final nail in the coffin” of the much-criticized study by University of Texas sociologist Mark Regnerus that purported to show that being raised by gay and lesbian parents harms children. The Regnerus study has become a favorite tool of Religious Right activists seeking to show that households led by same-sex couples are bad for children. At the same time, the study has come under scrutiny for the funding it received from anti-gay groups and for its lack of respondents who were actually raised in same-sex parent households. Indiana University's Brian Powell and the University of Connecticut’s Simon Cheng didn’t just find methodological flaws in Regnerus’ research — they took the data he collected, cleaned it up, and redid the study, coming to a very different conclusion about families led by same-sex couples. Their article will be published in “Social Science Research,” the same journal that published the Regnerus study. By eliminating suspect data — for example, a 25-year-old respondent who claimed to be 7’8” tall, 88 pounds, married 8 times and with 8 children, and another who reported having been arrested at age 1 — and correcting what they view as Regnerus’ methodological errors, Cheng and Powell found that Regnerus’ conclusions were so “fragile” that his data could just as easily show that children raised by gay and lesbian parents don’t face negative adult outcomes.

Robert Oscar Lopez: The Government Will Pay Reparations To Kids Of Gay Parents

"Over time, there is no doubt that there will be at least 100,000 citizens, probably well over 500,000, placed into same-sex homes entirely or predominantly because of the state’s response to demands for expanded marriage rights from gay lobbying organizations. These citizens will not have chosen to be deprived of a parent of one gender and subjected to the authority of an additional guardian of the other gender – these are citizens for whom the choice will have been made by the government (a government run by an older generation), when they were infants, or not even born yet, and had no way to consent to or understand what was being done to them. A sizable number of these citizens could come together and document losses, damages, or 'pain and suffering' incurred because they were forced to grow up in a same-sex parenting home as opposed to a home with a mother and father. If this ends in a reparations trial decades down the line, we can’t say there weren’t ample warning signs of what was to come." - Homocon horcrux Robert Oscar Lopez, in an American Thinker column comparing the children of gay parents to the Japanese-Americans interned during World War II.

PREVIOUSLY ON JMG: In April 2014 Lopez filed a SCOTUS brief in which he opposed same-sex marriage because gay people have been been mean to him. In March 2015 Lopez declared that gay activists are incentivizing home-wreckers. Also in March 2015 Lopez declared that gay parents like Elton John are disgusting terrorists. In December 2014 Lopez filed an amicus brief with the Eleventh Circuit Court in which he opposed Florida marriage because gays have been telling lies about him. In September 2014 Lopez compared the Human Rights Campaign to the Khmer Rouge. Also in September 2014 Lopez petitioned the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals to stop gay marriage in Texas because he used to be a prostitute. In April 2014 Lopez filed an anti-gay amicus brief in support of Virginia's ban on same-sex marriage. In March 2014 Lopez declared that gay men are turning surrogate mothers into breeding slaves. In 2013, in addition to appearing on stage at an anti-gay Manif Pour Tous rally in France that was supported by neo-Nazis, Lopez testified against LGBT equality before several state legislatures and he co-signed an anti-gay homocon brief to the Supreme Court in support of DOMA. Obama Backs LGBT Foster Parents

The White House just issued a proclamation in recognition of National Foster Care Month in which President Obama backs LGBT parents. An excerpt via press release:
We know that children are best raised in families, not institutions. And each year, men and women of all backgrounds open their homes and hearts to foster children. These selfless individuals step up and serve as loving parents and family members and dedicated teachers, mentors, caseworkers, and faith leaders -- helping foster children realize their highest aspirations despite the great odds stacked against them. My Administration is striving to bolster all those who support foster children by providing the resources and assistance they need. With so many children waiting for loving homes, it is important to ensure all qualified caregivers have the opportunity to serve as foster or adoptive parents, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, or marital status. That is why we are working to break down the barriers that exist and investing in efforts to recruit more qualified parents for children in foster care.

Today's FRC Marriage Fast Prayer: Maybe It Would Better Just To Drown Gay Parents

The Family Research Council's 21-day fast against same-sex marriage is in its second week and today's prayer opens with a scripture which suggests that might be better to drown gay parents than have children grow up in such a household.
But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Matthew 18:6. God, please intervene to protect the children who, if forced to grow up in same-sex households, apart from the true nurture and admonition of the Lord and with a distorted view of God, the Bible and the family. Have mercy upon those who are already in such circumstances (Gen 18:19; Dt 11:16-21; Jn 21:15; Eph 6:4). Preserve, protect and save these and yet unborn children who will be and already are being adopted into these unnatural households (Is 59:21; Mt 19:14; Jn 10:8-15) Protect all of our children and grandchildren, some who are already being taught in public schools that homosexuality is OK, that same-sex "marriage" is OK, even equivalent in value to natural marriage (Is 59:2-5; Jeremiah 9:3-6; Rom 1:22-32) Please intervene to stop the rush toward laws that give people special rights and benefits because of their sexual practices and identity. Stop the madness: fines and lawsuits against God fearing people who object because of their faith -- all of which will accelerate and multiply if the Supreme Court does not uphold historic, Biblical, traditional marriage -- all of which will impact children disproportionately! (Isaiah 59:15; Luke 18:1-8; Jude 1: all)
Charming, huh?

Robert Oscar Lopez: Christians Will Lose All Rights If SCOTUS Approves Marriage

"If gay marriage passes, you will lose. You will lose your freedoms. You will lose your voice. You will lose the conservative movement that you hold dear for any number of reasons not related to gay marriage. All the truces and compromises that are offered to sweeten gay marriage as a deal will be swiftly and mercilessly broken once it is the law of the land. Your churches will be watched and subverted. You will risk your job by speaking your mind on e-mail, on Facebook, or even over dinner talking to your own children. If you are hoping to carve out some religious liberty provision in a post-gay marriage America, you are going to be too late. You gain nothing by negotiating some special exception for yourself after gay marriage passes. You must do everything you can to stop gay marriage itself. If you cannot name the reasons for opposing gay marriage in clear, fearless terms that apply to people of faith and non-believers equally, you will lose your faith. The Bible tells us to be wise as serpents and gentle as doves. Don't forget the serpents in the mix." - Homocon horcrux Robert Oscar Lopez, writing for American Thinker.

Robert Oscar Lopez To SCOTUS: Stop Same-Sex Marriage Because Gays Are Being Just Horrible To Me

Homocon horcrux Robert Oscar Lopez has filed an amicus brief with the Supreme Court in which he argues that same-sex marriage must not be approved because gay writers like me have just been horrible to him. An excerpt:
The history of the gay community lashing out at people who have been raised by gay parents is long, ugly, and shocking. This brief affords me limited space, so here I would like to present a few examples to the Court based on my firsthand experience. Zack Ford a journalist with ThinkProgress, has called me “anti-equality.” Jeremy Hooper, who worked long-term with the Gay and Lesbian Alliance against Defamation (GLAAD), called me “anti-gay.” Ty Cobb, an employee of the pro-gay Human Rights Campaign, sent an email to all of his concern’s members (more than a million people) naming me as someone with un-American values, an “exporter of hate.”  Ford and Hooper stated these things on their respective editorial sites: namely ThinkProgress and Good as You. Other sites including Frontiers LA, Right Wing Watch, Raw Story, Towleroad, Equality Matters, Huffington Post, JoeMyGod, and Human Rights Campaign have reinforced this labeling of me. These labels have been attached so ubiquitously to my name that any search on Google of “Robert Oscar Lopez” will take an Internet surfer to stories of my “anti-equality” and “anti-gay” crimes against the gay community. As a result of this online association between my name and anti-gay bigotry, I have lost speaking engagements, been physically mobbed at venues such as Catholic University of America, and faced harassment at my job, at social events, and at professional conferences including ones that have nothing to do with any gay issues.
According to Lopez, all those verbatim quotes we've been posting are out of context or have been deleted from his site. Therefore he really didn't say those things. Or something. (Tipped by JMG reader Str8 Grandmother)

One Million Moms Vs One Big Happy

Just in via email:
NBC has launched another program attempting to redefine what makes a family. "One Big Happy" is described as a show about best friends Lizzy and Luke who are like family. As kids, they saw each other's parents go through divorce and have ever since formed an inseparable bond. Now, all grown up and still single, they've decided to start a family of their own, but in a non-traditional way. Lizzy, who is a lesbian, wants to raise a child with Luke by her side. Then one night, Luke falls for Prudence, a free-spirited British girl who's due to go back to England in a matter of days. Then, just as Lizzy discovers that she's actually pregnant, Luke announces that he and Prudence have gotten married - and in an instant, a different kind of family is born.

NBC's "One Big Happy" is attempting to desensitize America and our children. This new show is damaging to our culture and harmful to our society for a number of reasons. This program glamorizes one night stands, n-dity, homosexuality, and foul language (such as v-gina and b-tch). 1MM is prepared to contact sponsors of "One Big Happy" requesting they pull financial support from the program. It is proven this strategy works! It was not too long ago that NBC announced "The New Normal" had been canceled after only one season because of lack of advertisers! Please use the information we have provided to contact Synsodyne (GlaxoSmithKline) and ask they pull their financial support from "One Big Happy."
Ellen DeGeneres is one of the show's executive producers.

Robert Oscar Lopez: Disgusting Gay Activists Are Incentivizing Home-Wreckers

JMG reader Chris sends us the latest from Robert Oscar Lopez:
"[Gays] have unleashed chaos. What they've done is they've incentivized home-wreckers. They've unleashed so much propaganda on the gay community about having kids. There are so many gay people who want kids. And the cheapest way to do it is to find someone who's in a heterosexual marriage that's on the rocks--where there are kids involved--seduce the person away from the opposite-sex partner, get them to come out of the closet, take them to family court and get custody of the kids. It's disgusting, but people do that. Because it's the cheapest way!"
At the 21:00 mark in the below podcast, Lopez continues to claim that gay bloggers are secretly colluding to destroy him. Leading this "fascist" anti-Lopez cabal, he claims, is Jeremy Hooper at Good As You with help from Andy Towle and yours truly. Damn us all to hell for quoting him verbatim!
RELATED: Lopez wants you to know that he is not "ex-gay."
There's something perverse about society's inability to understand the basics of bisexuality. A bisexual--such as myself--is capable of coupling with either men or women. It doesn't mean you sleep with both sexes simultaneously or have polyamorous domestic situations. I am faithful to my wife. But I have been with men and do not feel like running around claiming I was always straight, which wouldn't be true, or claiming I have been "cured," which I haven't. I think people make choices in life and what you do with your body is one of those choices. People should decide to do things that make them happy. I am not ex-gay.
UPDATE: I'm reminded to mention that Lopez is the founder of the International Children's Rights Institute. From their about page:
Whereas most institutes that deal with difficult issues surrounding children’s rights rely on social science or the natural sciences, at ICRI we employ historically-informed, humanities-based methodologies with a world view. We strive to articulate philosophically-grounded positions on what constitutes the “rights” of a child, and how those rights relate to, or differ from, other normative “rights”; such as human rights or civil rights. The ICRI acknowledges that children’s rights are not limitless, and that there are things to which children are not entitled, such as gender reassignment surgery or explicit sexual media.
Lopez' wife sits on the ICRI's 15-member academic council.

Christian Site Launches Pro-D&G Petition

From LifeSiteNews:
A host of performers, led by Elton John, have called for a boycott of the Italian designers for “lining up with the Pope and the far-Right in their support for legal discrimination." Elton John and David Furnish, his “husband,” have two IVF children from a surrogate mother in the United States.

Unfortunately this is just the latest example of the increasingly common attacks against entrepreneurs who have dared to speak the “politically incorrect” truth that family and marriage are built upon the union of a man and a woman.

Though we may not necessarily agree with everything they believe or stand for, right now Dolce and Gabbana need encouragement from those who support traditional marriage and the natural family not to cave under the intense pressure that is being put on them by intolerant gay activists. We need people from every sphere of life to speak the truth about marriage and the family, and those who do should be given the support they need to withstand the inevitable attacks that will result.
Ben Shapiro is promoting the petition at TruthRevolt.

FLORIDA: House Advances Bill To Allow Adoption Agencies To Refuse Gay Couples

Via SaintPetersBlog:
One week after striking down a ban on gay adoption a House panel on Thursday approved a proposed committee bill that would allow private child placing agencies to refuse to perform adoptions without risking their state contracts if the placement violates their religious or moral convictions. The proposed bill, PCB HHSC 15-03, was supported by the Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Florida Eagle Forum, a self-described “pro-family” group, and opposed by the American Civil Liberties Union, the National Organization for Women and organizations representing lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender advocates, among others. Committee Chairman Jason Brodeur said the bill is necessary in light of the state’s move to eliminate the ban on gay adoption. Without the bill, he said, the private agencies “might likely have to shut down because they can’t reconcile their beliefs with the state.”
Florida's 1977 ban on gay adoption was struck down by a Miami-Dade County court in 2008. The state appealed that ruling, but it was upheld in a 2010 state district appeals court decision. Following that appeals court ruling then-Gov. Charlie Crist announced that the ban would no longer be enforced, making last week's House strike down of the 1977 statute merely symbolic. That symbolic gesture must still be approved by the Florida Senate and Gov. Rick Scott.

Enter hate group leader John Stemberger, who yesterday sent a letter to all Florida legislators, telling them that the 2010 ruling only applies to the counties under the jurisdiction of the appeals court and that the Department of Children & Families is infested with pro-gay workers anyway.
The DCA decision is merely “persuasive” authority but it is not binding authority statewide. The opinion of Adoption of XXG, is binding or controlling authority, only within Miami-Dade and Monroe counties where the jurisdiction of the Third District Court of Appeals lies. Further, the opinion was decided on highly questionable legal grounds because the court “discovered” Florida’s Constitution was somehow suddenly in conflict with Florida’s Statutes. DCF has for many years ignored the law and placed children with homosexuals for the simple reason that the agency is filled at a local level with pro-gay rights employees. DCF has ignored and side-stepped the prohibition in Florida’s law for many years and placed children with homosexual parents. DCF would place homosexuals as foster parents (which Florida law allows as a non-permanent placement) and then just arrange for adoptions for those persons and look the other way as to the gay man’s “roommate” or “friend.” Because of the false cover of Adoption of XXG opinion, the agency continues the same practice, but now openly and aggressively.
To sum up, the haters are vowing to stop the final approval of a bill striking down a moot law and they want to legalize anti-gay discrimination by adoption agencies.

RELATED: Stemberger, you may recall, has declared that the battle against same-sex marriage is "worth dying for." He's also the head of Trail Life USA, the anti-Boy Scouts group.

Bill Donohue On Dolce & Gabbana

"The open-minded ones in New York and Hollywood are having hissy fits over a quip made by Dolce about the kinds of kids their gay friends are raising. Elton John, who was engaged to a woman in the 1960s, married another gal in the 1980s, and then finally settled down with his boyfriend, is furious with Dolce. That’s because Sir Elton, who is no longer Questioning his sexual orientation (the 'Q' in LGBTQ stands for Questioning—if there are two 'Q’s' the other stands for 'Queer'), takes Dolce’s comments to heart: he and his buddy are raising two children who are not, obviously, the result of their homosexual relationship. He is calling for a boycott. The celebs are so angry that some are threatening to burn their Dolce & Gabbana pants. Others are literally apoplectic: they cannot speak. Still others, not knowing whose side to take - all the parties to this controversy are homosexuals - are feverishly waiting it out." - Bill Donohue, reducing David Furnish to a "buddy" in a post for the Catholic League.

Tony Perkins Praises Dolce & Gabbana

"The minds behind the world-famous D&G brand have been creating more controversy than clothing lately, as the duo comes clean about their surprisingly conservative views. As expected, celebrities have turned on the pair with a ferocity that took the Italians by surprise. Singer Elton John has been the most vocal, calling Dolce and Gabbana's thinking 'archaic' and demanding a Tinsel town boycott of the popular line. The backlash (one celebrity vowed to set her Dolce on fire) threw the designers for a loop. They're learning, as we all have, that there's no room in the Left's debate for both sides. It was a powerful statement -- one that obviously hit a little too close to home. When it comes right down to it, there's nothing more threatening to the homosexual political movement than homosexual people who tell the truth." - Hate group leader Tony Perkins, via press release.

Glenn Beck Defends Dolce & Gabbana

Right Wing Watch has the transcript:
"Is this the kind of freedom that we're at? Anyone who feels the same as Dolce and Gabbana, let me ask you, are they empowered to express their view or are they now afraid that Hollywood and progressives will come after them? The party of progress is making progress indeed, back to the Dark Ages, back to the days when differing scientific views were labeled heresy and black magic. As the march toward conformity continues, America gets farther and farther away from the place where those who will change the world with art and science and music, those who will bring on the next Renaissance just might find themselves locked up in a tower and sadly never paint the next Mona Lisa."
