Anti-Gay Activist Ken Hutcherson Dies

Anti-gay activist Pastor Ken Hutcherson, who led the Referendum 71 effort to repeal Washington state's domestic partners law, has died of prostate cancer at the age of 61. Via World Net Daily:
He frequently was at the center of public controversy as an opponent of homosexual activism. He organized a “Mayday for Marriage” rally in Seattle in 2004 that drew 20,000 participants and spearheaded a similar event in Washington, D.C., later that year that attracted 140,000. A year later, he mobilized citizens to oppose state legislation that would have made it illegal to fire an employee due to their “sexual orientation.” He vowed to organize a national boycott of Microsoft products if the locally headquartered software giant didn’t withdraw its support, sparking protests. A close friend of family advocate Dr. James Dobson, Hutcherson raised his voice when he saw Dobson’s successor at Focus on the Family, Jim Daly, signal a more conciliatory approach to social issues.
Shortly after Washington state voters approved same-sex marriage in November 2012, Hutcherson declared that NOM was a racist organization and had excluded him from their campaign because he was black. He also led annual public school walkouts in protest of the Day Of Silence, a campaign against the bullying of gay kids. In 2010 Hutcherson officiated at Rush Limbaugh's fourth marriage.

PREVIOUSLY ON JMG: Hutcherson claims to have cost Microsoft billions from his anti-gay boycott.  Hutcherson says Satan loves openly gay NBA player Jason Collins.  Hutcherson says God hates effeminate men. Hutcherson says that if you are gay, God will murder you. Hutcherson says that the only reason he played football was so he could hurt white people legally. Hutcherson says gay people are going to marry horses. Hutcherson says gay men are going to marry little boys. Hutcherson says the governor of Washington is like Lincoln's killer because she signed the marriage bill. Hutcherson says Christians are so oppressed, they are "the new Negroes."

Ken Hutcherson: Satan Loves Jason Collins

"The enemy has impeccable timing. Collins is being used as a pawn, in the most dangerous game of Russian roulette for his soul. Have you ever noticed that those who support the gay agenda don't like Christians in sports, entertainment, or media? They really don't like us anywhere at all. Let's take Tim Tebow as a classic example. Tebow was asked to keep his beliefs quietly to himself, while Collins is celebrated for the 'heroism' displayed for exposing his off-court activities. We need to unite now! It's time for us to draw our own line in the sand, sending a clear message to all who would listen. That message is, we are not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, and this is our country. We won't let it be destroyed by a handful of anti-Christian people." - Wackadoodle preacher Ken Hutcherson, writing for the Christian Post.

Eating Their Own: Pastor Ken Hutcherson Repeats Charge That NOM Is Racist

"I said to [NOM], 'You think I’m controversial because I don’t look white. I don’t talk white. I don’t act white. And I am not that milquetoast-looking kind of guy that’s is going to be calm about everything. I’ve got a passion on what’s right. I’ve got a passion, and I will stand on what I think biblical principles are. If that’s controversial, then we’ve got a problem, and we’ll never win another election on anything." - Pastor Ken Hutcherson, appearing on Michelangelo Signorile's radio show to repeat his claim that NOM cut him out of Washington's marriage battle because he's black.

Anti-Gay Marriage Movement Erupts With Infighting And Finger-Pointing

Pastor Ken Hutcherson, Washington state's leading anti-gay asshat, is blaming NOM, Focus On The Family, and other major hate groups for being too white and refusing to accept help from people like him.  From the Christian Post:
"When I knew my involvement was going to generate controversy, I offered to step back and suggested others who were on the frontlines do so as well for the sake of unity. They refused, leaving me as the odd man out. If you look at them, they were all the same color with the same moderate views. It just didn't make sense why they would not include a person of color who was willing to fight." "I believe there are conservatives of all colors, but the leadership from NOM, Focus and Mission Public Affairs, wanted to run being a moderate campaign where everyone felt warm and fuzzy. But we know that sin is never satisfied and always wants more. These guys just looked and acted too much like the GOP – old and white."
NOM's Brian Brown is pissed at Hutcherson.
"That is simply not true," he told CP. "Pastor Hutcherson wanted to work on an initiative and not a referendum which we thought was the best method. Brown also called Hutcherson's comment "absurd and reckless," and that he never heard any complaints from the Washington pastor. He also pointed to others such as Maryland's Bishop Harry Jackson, Jr. who is also black and was out front in his state's effort to overturn a new state law. "In the body of Christ I think if we have differences they need to be aired out between us and not in the public arena."
Focus On The Family has the madz too.
"We would have hoped that Pastor Hutcherson would have brought something like this to us directly, but we haven't from him so we can't respond. Over the years the state campaigns to preserve marriage have been characterized by ethnic and racially diverse support, and that includes Washington."
JMG reader Daniel points out that Brian Brown is now claiming his side was outspent by 10-1. Funny how that number keeps creeping up.

Ken Hutcherson Has The Sadz

"I have been preaching and pushing and talking unity till I am blue in the face and you guys know how black I am in the face. I have continued to look that God is still on the throne, this is not a man’s decision in these elections, there is no way in the world that we should have had the votes that we had. So I am praying that we really get in the face of the church, really get in the face of the conservative leaders, really get in the face of churches. We have major churches out here that did not stand up, did not even raise a finger to defeat this whole thing on same-sex marriage and that is just an abomination to God. I am sick and tired of the homosexuals taking words that God has given us, I am sick and tired of the homosexual community taking our rainbow when God gave us that promise that He would not destroy the earth with water again. We have just become irrelevant, we are just sissified, we are evangeli-fish with no spiritual vertebrae and we need to wake up." - Pastor Ken Hutcherson, speaking on the American Family Association's radio show. God Hates Femmes

"God hates the whole effeminate aspect of man going after man or woman going after woman. You can't get around that – it's in the Bible. And what we need to understand as Christians, is that this is America. We stand on our biblical views regardless. We got President Obama, and we got the candidate Romney, and the question is – who am I as a Christian going to vote for if I am stuck in a quandary? Guess what – we have the choice not to vote for either one." - Pastor Ken Hutcherson, saying the battle for the Senate is more important than winning the White House.

Hutcherson: I'm The Gayest Guy I Know

"I am the gayest guy I know. My frustration is that some groups have taken words and symbols away from the Church and from society in general. When I say I'm 'gay,' what I mean is that I am happy, that I am joyful and that I love people. That is precisely what a Christian ought to be so in my opinion we just need to be as gay as we can. Dan Savage (a pro-gay activist) says he is gay. He's not gay, not anywhere close. Yeah, he may be a homosexual but he certainly doesn't appear to be happy or joyful when he stands up in front of a classroom and uses profane language. Nope, nothing gay about that." - Pastor Ken Hutcherson, joining the chorus of liars.

Gays Stole The Rainbow

"Let’s take back the rainbow for God. Let the homosexual community find a different religious symbol to commandeer. If they were feeling congenial, perhaps the Muslims would let them borrow their crescent moon. In these desperate economic times, maybe the Wiccans would rent the pentagram to them. I don’t really care. What I want is for the Christian community to wake up, wipe the sleep from their eyes, and realize that they are in a spiritual battle that isn’t going away and has no demilitarized zones. The rainbow is a symbol, but it’s meaning points to the very character of God. So Christians, use this God-given symbol for His glory. Using it won’t make you a homosexual. It won’t make you a New Ager. It won’t make leprechauns real. But it might allow you to get into conversations with people who need to meet the very One Who gave us His promise in the first place." - Ken Hutcherson, writing for World Net Daily.

PREVIOUSLY: Ken Hutcherson: "I was born and raised in Alabama where blacks and whites didn’t get along very well, and I tried being one of the main reasons they didn’t. I was extremely discriminatory towards whites. The only reason I played football was so I could hurt white people legally."

Ken Hutcherson: I'm Being Oppressed!

"Is it unfair not to let three people marry? Is it unfair that the men of NAMBLA (North American Man-Boy Love Association) not be allowed to marry little boys? It is not an issue of fairness but of righteousness and the Bible calls homosexuality sin. [snip] Muslims have come out in favor of same sex marriage, so they can usher in Sharia Law which allows polygamy. [snip] There is no such thing as the 'separation of church and state.' The Constitution says the church is protected from the state. There are no arguments outside of the Bible. Without the biblical definition of marriage, there is no defense against same-sex marriage. That is why those in favor of same sex marriage MUST silence Bible-believers." - Three answers from Pastor Ken Hutcherson's information sheet on Washington state's same-sex marriage bill.

Hutcherson: God Will Kill Gay People

"Do I think God brings judgment on a society that encourages homosexuality? I do. And since I am a pastor and God has commanded me to love everyone, I will do what it takes to love them. That does not mean I will accept that they stay the way they are. Unrepentant sin destroys you and will kill you. So if I believe the word of God, that He will bring judgment on a people, then I would be a very bad shepherd not to warn those people." - Pastor Ken Hutcherson, in an essay published by CNN.com.

Asshat Of The Day - Ken Hutcherson

"She might as well change her name to John Wilkes Booth because what she’s doing now is trying to put a bullet in the head of one of the greatest traditions that has ever existed and has built our society, and that is marriage between one man and one woman." - Pastor Ken Hutcherson on Washington Gov. Ken Hutcherson: I'm Being Oppressed!

"As long as the Bible says it's wrong, I'm going to fight against it like it's the last thing I can do. It's no different than any other sin. If someone walked around and said 'We want to be a minority because we are divorcees,' I would fight that just as much. It's going to infringe upon my freedom of religion. Every place this has become the law of the land, you are muzzled about what you can say about the issue of homosexuality." - Anti-gay asshat Pastor Ken Hutcherson, on the coming same-sex marriage bill in Washington state.

Hate Groups Unite On DOMA Letter Campaign To Congress

In a partnership with World Net Daily, Pastor Ken Hutcherson is spearheading a letter campaign to Congress demanding that legislators "leave the 5000 year-old definition of marriage alone." For the low, low price of $29.95, enemies of equality can send the letter to every legislator.
Now there is a way to fight back. It’s an innovative, high-tech, grass-roots lobbying campaign called “TIME TO DEFEND MARRIAGE: The Genesis 2:24 Campaign.” Supported by the Family Research Council, Dr. James Dobson, Gary Bauer and dozens of high-profile Christian leaders throughout the country, headed by Ken Hutcherson, pastor of the Antioch Bible Church in Washington state. It’s a project of a new coalition called “The Initiative for Moral Excellence” – or TIME. The campaign allows you to lobby all 535 members of Congress to fight legal challenges to the Defense of Marriage Act, a piece of legislation defining marriage as an institution between one man and one woman and signed by President Clinton into law. Nothing short of a complete repudiation of those legal attacks on the law will save marriage in America. By participating in this campaign, you can send copies of the letter below to all 535 members of Congress for one low price of $29.95 – far less than postage alone would cost you if you tried to do it yourself.
WND is selling the letter in their "superstore," where you can also buy "survival seeds" to live through the coming apocalypse.
