"Ex-Gays" File Discrimination Complaint With Department Of Justice

The "ex-gay" crackpots at PFOX have filed a federal discrimination complaint with the Department of Justice and the Department of Education because the Montgomery County, Maryland school board won't let them advocate for the torture and brainwashing of LGBT students. Via press release:
PFOX requests the federal agencies initiate an investigation into the discriminatory practices of Superintendent Starr and the Montgomery County school board and to oversee a remedial program to ensure diversity and non-discrimination against ex-gays. "Starr misused his official position as school superintendent to gain access to students and indoctrinate them with his prejudicial bias against the ex-gay community," said Regina Griggs, executive director of PFOX. "The Department of Justice has investigated complaints against schools for discriminating against transgenders -- those who have changed their gender identity. The ex-gay community -- those who have changed their sexual orientation -- asks for equal treatment from our federal government."

After PFOX distributed ex-gay flyers to high school students as part of the schools' flyer distribution program for non-profit organizations, Starr publicly denigrated PFOX and former homosexuals by calling the actions of PFOX "reprehensible and deplorable" and labeling the flyer's sexual orientation freedom stance as "a really, really disgusting message." "PFOX's flyers provided information on unwanted same-sex attractions, discouraged student name calling, and urged tolerance for former homosexuals," Griggs said. "Starr does not respect real diversity. As school superintendent, Starr's actions make it impossible for Montgomery County public schools to provide an atmosphere where everyone is treated fairly and with respect, and free from discrimination and abuse, as mandated by its sexual orientation nondiscrimination policy.
Griggs: "Their actions are reminiscent of the 1950s Jim Crow South, when public pools were closed rather than allow the participation of African-Americans."

VIRGINIA: "Ex-Gay" Wackos PFOX Want Universities To Torture LGBT Students

The crackpots at Voice Of The Voiceless went "undercover" at seven Virginia universities to see if they would be offered information abut "ex-gay" treatments if they asked for it. Of course, they were told to get lost, so now they are very upset. PFOX is joining in today via press release:
In response to an undercover investigation, Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays is urging the governor and legislature of Virginia to stop funding gay-transvestite centers at Virginia's public universities because they use the money to indoctrinate youth into changing their religion to gay-affirming faiths and actively seek to discredit the ex-gay community. "Virginia taxpayers shouldn't be forced to fund hatred and discrimination against ex-gays and people of faith," said Regina Griggs, executive director of PFOX. "These biased and discriminatory lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender/questioning centers hide ex-gay resources and insist that students adopt a 'gay-only' mentality that rejects those who have changed their orientation from gay to straight while celebrating those who have changed their gender identity. PFOX provides ex-gay brochures to many Virginia state universities with LGBTQ centers, yet the investigation shows that the centers refuse to make ex-gay resources readily available to students. PFOX's brochures urge tolerance for the ex-gay community, help students to prevent bullying at their schools, and explain gender identity confusion and unwanted same-sex attractions."
Those "gay-transvestite centers" are just regular offices that provide LGBT student services, obviously. But "transvestite" probably sounds worse than "transgender" in their delirious minds.

"Ex-Gay" Crackpots PFOX Ask Sen. Rob Portman And Wife To Join Their Group

The "ex-gay" crackpots at PFOX, who last month filed a Supreme Court brief against same-sex marriage, have issued a press release that both denounces Sen. Rob Portman and his wife and invites them to join their group. From PFOX head Regina Griggs:
My heart goes out to Sen. Portman and his wife. As the mother of a homosexual child, I understand how Sen. Portman feels. It is not easy, but as a responsible parent I must stand firm in my belief that marriage must remain as that of a man and a woman. To deliberately deny children a mother or father by supporting genderless marriage will create grave consequences. All children do best who live in a society where healthy relationships come from living with and being exposed to both genders. As the executive director of Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays (PFOX), I believe parents do not have to approve of everything their children do and say. Responsible parenting means loving and respecting our children in spite of our differences. Sen. Portman, we invite you to rethink your recent statement and for you and your wife to become honorary members of PFOX. We welcome you with open arms.
We'd love to hear from the "homosexual child" of Regina Griggs.

"Ex-Gay" Crackpots Demand CDC Stop Promoting Pro-Gay Websites

The self-hating "ex-gay" nutcases at PFOX have sent a letter to the CDC demanding that the federal government cease promoting websites that don't endorse the brainwashing and brutal torture of LGBT people.
The website also contains links to anti-heterosexual publications and organizations, such as PFLAG, which openly denigrates former homosexuals, and the infamous anti-ex-gay publication Just the Facts, which advocates against Christian ex-gay ministries and lists only those religious organizations that affirm homosexual behavior. Why is the federal government spreading intolerance against the ex-gay community and Christians who support the religious testimony of former homosexuals? Your response did not address our complaint that the CDC is engaging in sexual orientation discrimination.

You further claim that “information on ex-gays and conversion therapy is not included,” but Just the Facts does exactly that – warn others against the use of therapy for diminishing unwanted same-sex attractions. Please read your website. The promotion of these negative anti-heterosexual comments spreads hate towards the ex-gay community. Is the federal government singling out a certain class of people to denigrate? We also take issue with your link to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), which creates unsafe communities by promoting intolerance against the ex-gay community and actively targeting Christian organizations who disagree with their political beliefs.
PFLAG, an organization of straight allies, is "anti-heterosexual"? PFOX is beyond despicable.

"Ex-Gay" Group PFOX: It's Fascist To Stop Us From Our Fascist Torture Of Gay Kids

Parent & Friends Of "Ex-Gays" are predictably quivering with anger over California's proposed bill to ban the torture and brainwashing of LGBT children. PFOX writes to the bill's main sponsor, CA Sen. Ted Lieu:
Sponsoring legislation endorsed by the gay lobby to ensure that children only receive gay-affirming therapy is an act of childhood endangerment and an unconstitutional attempt to deny parental rights everywhere, but especially for parents in California and those in your Torrance district. Your bill will turn California into a nanny state by usurping the civil rights of parents who support their child's right to receive therapy for unwanted same-sex attractions, especially when that child has been sexually molested. This smacks of fascism and ex-gay bashing. As parents of gays and ex-gays, we are ashamed of your willingness to take action against parents, children, and the family in order to support gay activists. It is people like you who endanger children, and not their parents, whom you wish to dictate on how they raise their own children. California is not a socialist state and our children do not belong to the government, subject to the ideology of the state over the objections of their parents.
PFOX's letter is illustrated with a CDC graph on AIDS, of course. Last week the bill passed out its Assembly committee and must be approved by the full chamber before heading back to the Senate (where it's already been approved) for concurrence. It then would head to the desk of Gov. Jerry Brown, who has as yet not indicated his stance on the bill.

RELATED: Several major "ex-gay" figures have recently confessed that "reparative therapy" does not work, earning them the condemnation of their former colleagues in child abuse.

"Ex-Gays" Are Being Oppressed!

PFOX is outraged that a Maryland school board member is "disgusted" by their flier campaign telling students that they don't have to "choose" to be gay.
"We call on the Montgomery County Board of Education to enforce its Nondiscrimination Policy and censure Superintendent Starr immediately," said Regina Griggs, executive director of PFOX. "The Policy mandates that schools provide 'an atmosphere where differences are understood and appreciated, and where all persons are treated fairly and with respect in an environment free of discrimination and ... abuse.' Clearly Starr has violated the Board's Policy," said Griggs. "Starr's verbal abuse, disrespectful behavior, and slurs against the ex-gay community amount to hate and illegal sexual orientation discrimination, which are all forbidden by the Policy." According to media reports, Starr is discussing with his staff how to turn the fliers into a learning experience for students. "Starr does not respect diversity and is creating an unsafe school environment," said Griggs.
NOTE: The media spokesdouche for the Maryland campaign has been FRC's Peter Sprigg, who has called for the criminalization of homosexuality.

"Ex-Gays" Complain Libraries Won't Stock Their Books

The "ex-gay" movement is complaining that school and public libraries are refusing to stock books that tell people it's possible to change their sexual orientation.
Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays (PFOX) says there's an entire community of people across the world who say that their sexual orientation changed from gay to straight. But they're not getting their message out, the group says, because libraries across the country refuse to carry literature that describes these experiences or any studies that support them. So a book like "My Genes Made Me Do It!: A Scientific Look at Sexual Orientation" — which argues that sexuality is shaped by a variety of factors, not just biological — can't get a spot on the school library shelf. Neither can "You Don't Have to Be Gay," which describes author Jeff Konrad's struggle to overcome his unwanted same-sex attractions.

But "Baby Be-Bop," the coming-out story of a gay teen, which includes descriptions of his sexual encounters in bathroom stalls with men he never talks to, makes the stacks. So does "Love & Sex: Ten Stories of Truth," which describes a gay teen's relationship with his tutor with excerpts like: "Matt had one leg locked between mine, so that his d—- was smashed between his stomach and my thigh. And as his hand jerked up and down on me his hips humped with the same rhythm." Ask why the "ex-gay" books aren't making the cut, and the answers range. Some say the books simply haven't been reviewed by the proper institutions; others say the idea the books promote — that homosexuality is a treatable condition — can be psychologically damaging to homosexuals.
PFOX's Regina Griggs warns that libraries "can expect more lawsuits nationwide."

Ex-Gays Mad That Fannie & Freddie Gave Money To LGBT Activist Groups

Via Christianist "news site" One News Now:
The group Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays (PFOX) is outraged that even though government-backed mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac went broke and received a federal bailout, they still managed to give thousands of dollars this year to homosexual activist groups. PFOX executive director Regina Griggs says Freddie Mac shelled out $65,000 over the past two years to the Human Rights Campaign to help homosexual couples adopt children. The Freddie Mac Foundation has given more than $125,000 to homosexual activist groups over the last three years, and the Fannie Mae Foundation has given $80,000 to such groups in the past decade.

Shawn Flaherty, a spokeswoman for Freddie Mac, told PFOX that she was not sure whether the ex-"gay" group would meet grant guidelines. However, Griggs says Flaherty noted the Foundation focuses on three priorities -- stable homes, foster care and adoption, and youth development. "What could be more important than supporting marriage as a man and one woman, adoption by heterosexual couples, and how about telling youth the truth -- you're not born that way [homosexual], that change is possible?" she wonders. "It was interesting because her other comment was that 'the grants have not focused on the gay community. It's a piece of it.' That's my tax dollars silencing me, silencing our organizations, coming after [Christian non-profits]. This is unbelievable."
PFOX head troglodyte Regina Griggs insists that the money was only donated because Barney Frank's ex-boyfriend from twenty years ago used to work for Fannie Mae. Twenty years ago.

Ex-Gay Group PFOX Wins Chutzpah Grand Prize Of All Eternity

Surely you remember their vile billboard campaign from a couple years ago, but now PFOX (Parents And Friends Of Ex-Gays) is suing the Washington DC Human Rights Office for discrimination, claiming that "ex-gays" are not protected under the city's sexual orientation law.
"The ex-gay community is the most bullied and maligned group in America, yet they are not protected by sexual orientation non-discrimination laws," said Regina Griggs, PFOX executive director.

The DC Human Rights Act prohibits discrimination based on "sexual preference," "sexual orientation," "gender identity," and "gender expression." The Office of Human Rights maintains that homosexuals, bisexuals, transgenders, and cross-dressers qualify for protection under this Act, but ex-gays do not. PFOX's lawsuit asks the DC Superior Court to direct the Office to include former homosexuals under the sexual orientation law. "Shouldn't ex-gays enjoy the same legal protections that gays enjoy?" asked Griggs.

"Former homosexuals and their friends have been fired from their jobs, repeatedly ridiculed, assaulted, and intimidated. This harassment is most often perpetrated by the same groups who demand protection under sexual orientation laws but work to deny ex-gays the same respect."
Are you fucking kidding me? "Ex-gay" is now a separate sexual orientation? I thought that the love of Jeebus freed them from evil perverted dreams of mansex and turned them into righteous totally hetero muff-diving soldiers of Christ? I guess that didn't work out.

PFOX says they are worried that as president, Barack Obama would sign ENDA legislation that does not mention "ex-gays." I suggest you call PFOX director Regina Griggs (804-453-4737) and demand that they make a massive contribution to the Trevor Project as penance for the all those gay teenagers they've driven to thoughts of suicide.

Wayne Besen's Truth Wins Out, a group that fights the "ex-gay" movement, says that PFOX has filed a "frivolous lawsuit" and has offered no proof of their supposed discrimination. Besen:
PFOX has never offered any evidence and has long invented or greatly exaggerated potential cases. PFOX is a political organization that sells the idea that people can "pray away the gay." It was founded by lawyer Roy Cohn's ex-boyfriend, Anthony Falzarono, and bankrolled by the Family Research Council. It was later run by therapist Richard Cohen, who was banned for life by the American Counseling Association. The current leader is Regina Griggs, who has an openly gay son.
Again: Regina Griggs (804-453-4737).
