Quote Of The Day - Tucker Carlson
"Here’s the bottom line: A 15-year-old boy is not a 15-year-old girl, and so – I got a lot of mail about this – every man understands this. A 15-year-old boy looks at this as, like, the greatest thing that ever happened, and I think for a 15-year-old girl it would be traumatic. That’s just real. I don’t know what to say – I don’t want that to be true but it is true. I’m not saying that all teachers should do lap dances at school. I’m just saying when a teacher gets so enthusiastic she breaks out into a lap dance, don’t send her to prison. That’s all I’m saying." - Fox News commentator Tucker Carlson, saying that sexual harassment by teachers is fine as long as it's a female teacher and and male student. Carlson adds that a Texas teacher who performed a lap dance on a 15 year-old boy should not be charged "because there's no victim here."

Daily Caller: Obama Gives You Meth-Face
Teabagistan's always classy and erudite Daily Caller (owned by Tucker Carlson) today published a before-and-after slideshow of prominent Democrats with the above headline.
Back in 2008 it was fun. Daring. Exciting. The rush was unbelievable. The visuals? Man, this dope is like the best parts of coke and acid. Plus all the cool kids were doing it, but, like, for real — not in a cliche way, ya know? Young guys and pretty girls from Silicon Valley. All the actors and stuff. Hell, it even made old fogies like Kerry and Reid feel young. We all remember how hard it was to convince Hillary to give it a try, but after she’d had a hit, man, it was like she was flying. Just untouchable. But things turned south quick. The high was fleeting. It just couldn’t take anyone to those soaring heights anymore. We were all left chasing the hit, never quite catching it.According to Daily Caller, Jesse Jackson, Hillary Clinton, Harry Reid, John Kerry, and US Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power (above) all have meth-face after five years of Obama.

Daily Caller "Endorses" Anthony Weiner
"Only Mr. Weiner’s tech-savvy campaign throbs through its veins with populist sentiment. The former congressman lasted even when his competitors told him to finish early. His moderate leadership will offer the city protection. Unlike past mayors, he will reach around the table to deal with both parties, rather than passing reforms through the back door. This man is firm in his beliefs, and he is not afraid to sweat. When he unloads his policy ideas, people swallow. The voters of New York are swallowing his message whole. Mr. Weiner is not one to go down." - From the editorial board of the wingnut Daily Caller.

Headlines Of The Day
The shit is really hitting the fan for Tucker Carlson's wingnut Daily Caller and its months-long campaign to bring down Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ). The Daily Caller writer who launched the story and followed up with daily outraged updates is Matthew Boyle, who recently jumped ship for Breitbart. Boyle and I have occasionally exchanged tweets on various subjects, but after the Menendez story began to fall apart a few weeks ago, he stopped responding to my questions about it. Since then Boyle, usually a many-times-per-day tweeter, has gone almost silent. Hit any of the above headlines for the stories.

Douchebag Daily Caller Reporter Interrupts President's Immigration Reform Speech
For those wondering, the reporter that so rudely interrupted the president's speech was Neil Munro from the anti-gay Daily Caller, the teabagger site founded by Tucker Carlson. Obama properly and angrily smacked him down, but let's hope Jay Carney is booting Munro from the White House press corps right now.UPDATE: Carney is already on it.
UPDATE II: Even Fox News is slamming Munro. "I don't think the guy should be allowed back to the White House."Labels: assholery, journalism, Tucker Carlson

FREAK SHOW: Teabagger Website To Give Away One Gun Per Week Until Election Day
The Daily Caller, which was founded by proud gay-basher Tucker Carlson, announced today that it will give away a "high-capacity" handgun per week until our Kenyan Communist Gay President is toppled in November. Can this possibly be legal? Surely some states must outlaw such nuttery.Labels: guns, internet, scary, Tea Party, teabaggers, Tucker Carlson, wingnuts

GLAAD: Tucker Carlson And MSNBC
Must Apologize
GLAAD has issued a statement demanding that Tucker Carlson and MSNBC apologize for "remarks made Tuesday night that appear to condone violent assault." As several JMG readers noted in the post below this one, today Carlson issued this statement, written in response to GLAAD's complaint:
Let me be clear about an incident I referred to on MSNBC last night: In the mid-1980s, while I was a high school student, a man physically grabbed me in a men's room in Washington, DC. I yelled, pulled away from him and ran out of the room. Twenty-five minutes later, a friend of mine and I returned to the men's room. The man was still there, presumably waiting to do to someone else what he had done to me. My friend and I seized the man and held him until a security guard arrived.GLAAD's response:
Several bloggers have characterized this is a sort of gay bashing. That's absurd, and an insult to anybody who has fought back against an unsolicited sexual attack. I wasn't angry with the man because he was gay. I was angry because he
assaulted me.
The statement is not only a failed attempt to justify Carlson's advocacy of violence, but also changes key details of the previous night's on-air story. First, Carlson does not repeat his assertion that he "hit him against the stall with his head," instead changing his story to say that he "seized the man and held him down until a security guard arrived." The security guard element is also newly invented. In his on-air statement, Carlson said that "the cops came and arrested him."GLAAD suggests writing or calling NBC News and MSNBC to demand Carlson's apology and ask if his comments are reflective of network standards and practices.
"Carlson's story was difficult to watch on two levels," said GLAAD Senior Director of Media Programs Rashad Robinson. "To see someone brag on national television of returning, with an accomplice, to the scene of an unwanted advance to violently attack the person who made it is incredibly disturbing. But it was also hard to watch because of the sheer absurdity of most of what Carlson was saying."
"Whether Abrams and Scarborough were laughing with Carlson or laughing at him, the fact remains that MSNBC and NBC News have some explaining to do about their standards and practices," Robinson said. "They need to explain whether bragging about physically assaulting a man in response to an unwanted advance is appropriate on-air behavior for one of their employees, and whether laughter by two others is an appropriate on-air response."

MSNBC's Tucker Carlson:
I Smack Down Cruising Homos
The gays-as-dirty-potty-cruisers angle seems to be overtaking the coverage of Sen. Craig's arrest. Last night on MSNBC, Tucker Carlson recounted having, with friends, beaten up a man who allegedly hit on him in a men's room, much to the hilarity of his co-hosts. Carlson described himself as "the least anti-gay right-winger you'll ever meet". Yeah, cuz gay-friendly guys beat up guys that hit on them. Gawker headlined their coverage of this as "Tucker Carlson Beats Up Gay Men With His Friends". As Gawker notes, it sure sounds like Carlson admitted to a crime on-air, doesn't it? Carlson claims his tearoom-troller was arrested. Surely somebody out there can find proof of this, if it actually happened.
I like this comment on the Gawker post:
Dear Tucker,
Just a quick note to remind you about:
a)Dancing With The Stars
b)Your bowtie collection
Sincerely,
Your Repressed Homosexuality
.
