Bill Donohue Has The Archbishop Sadz

"Ever since Nienstedt criticized the gay movie, Brokeback Mountain, he has been a marked man. The Star Tribune, the St. Cloud Times, Minnesota Public Radio, the New York Times, as well as an array of wayward priests, Catholic journalists, former Catholics, and unethical lawyers, have been out to get him. Just today, Fr. Mike Tegeder said it was a good sign that Nienstedt resigned; Tegeder supports gay marriage. Nienstedt’s sin is that he is an orthodox Catholic. Nienstedt was twice accused of inappropriate touching, and twice the charges proved false. He is a good man who was unfairly treated." - Bill Donohue, on today's resignation by Archbishop John Niendstedt.

Bill Donohue Vs Bill Maher

"According to Maher’s logic, Africans in South Africa who lived under apartheid had no basis to complain because they constituted more than 90 percent of the nation. What matters is not the demographics of the population but whether the nation’s elites are working to undermine the norms and values of the majority. If the political and cultural elites bear an animus against the majority, that is not without consequence. Anyone who thinks that Christian bashing is not alive and well—at the federal, state, and local levels—is delusional. That it thrives in cultural institutions such as the arts, education, the entertainment industry, and the media is indisputable. Maher can verify the accuracy of my position by accessing the Catholic League’s annual reports on anti-Catholicism, our news releases, and our monthly journal, Catalyst; all are available online. Indeed, he will find there are dozens of entries that bear his name." - Bill Donohue, responding to Bill Maher's demand that social conservatives "stop these phony claims of Christian persecution."

Bill Donohue Has The IBM Sadz

"No one knew how anti-Christian IBM had become until it unleashed its fury against a religious-liberty bill in Louisiana. Its governor, Bobby Jindal, is a practicing Catholic, and he plans to sign a law that protects religious liberty from its enemies. Those enemies now include IBM.  If IBM wants to relocate from Louisiana, it should consider Cuba. But it needs to move fast: Cuba is showing signs of renewed respect for religious liberty, and if conditions improve, the capitalist elites may find themselves sitting to the left of the communists." - Bill Donohue, writing for the Catholic League.

Bill Donohue: Those French Writers Had It Coming To Them For Insulting Religion

"Killing in response to insult, no matter how gross, must be unequivocally condemned. That is why what happened in Paris cannot be tolerated. But neither should we tolerate the kind of intolerance that provoked this violent reaction. Those who work at this newspaper have a long and disgusting record of going way beyond the mere lampooning of public figures, and this is especially true of their depictions of religious figures. For example, they have shown nuns masturbating and popes wearing condoms. They have also shown Muhammad in pornographic poses. While some Muslims today object to any depiction of the Prophet, others do not. Moreover, visual representations of him are not proscribed by the Koran. What unites Muslims in their anger against Charlie Hebdo is the vulgar manner in which Muhammad has been portrayed. What they object to is being intentionally insulted over the course of many years. On this aspect, I am in total agreement with them. Stephane Charbonnier, the paper’s publisher, was killed today in the slaughter. It is too bad that he didn’t understand the role he played in his tragic death. In 2012, when asked why he insults Muslims, he said, 'Muhammad isn’t sacred to me.' Had he not been so narcissistic, he may still be alive." - Bill Donohue, writing for the Catholic League.

Bill Donohue's War On Christmas Penis

From the Catholic League: "Bill Donohue comments on a cross-shaped penis necklace made available for Christmas by designer Tom Ford: 'When we learned of this item, I said to the staff that I bet this guy Tom Ford is a homosexual. I was right. He even thinks he’s married.'"

Bill Donohue On Terry Bean

"He likes to hide his camera in the smoke-alarm over his bed, videoing kinky sex with his boyfriends. He is one of the biggest porn kings in American history, making a fortune off of 'barebacking' videos - the kind of unprotected sex that led directly to AIDS. And when he is not bundling hundreds of thousands of dollars for President Obama, he is riding with him on Air Force One. He was arrested last week in his Portland, Oregon home for rape. Charged with a felony, he is accused of sodomizing a teenage boy in 2013. Meet Terrence Patrick Bean. If a Catholic bishop does not call 911 at the drop of a hat regarding dirty pictures possessed by a priest, he is upbraided by the media and gay leaders. But when a gay superstar is arrested for raping a minor, the same critics say nothing. They never did care about the kid - just the identity of the abuser." - Bill Donohue, writing for the Catholic League.

FACT CHECK:  When Falcon Studios porn mogul Chuck Holmes died fourteen years ago, Bean agreed to be the executor of his estate, which was liquidated soon after. Per Holmes' wishes, the proceeds from the sale of his catalog of 70s porn titles were used to establish a foundation which provides grants to HIV/AIDS and LGBT causes. According to the most recent filing of the Charles M. Holmes Foundation, among the donations made in 2012 were grants to the ACLU, Equity Fights AIDS, Oregon's Equity Foundation, the Pacific Northwest Hospice Foundation, and an LGBT scholarship program at the University of Oregon.

Bill Donoue: I've Been Betrayed And Will Boycott The St. Patrick's Day Parade

Catholic League blowhard Bill Donohue today announced that he has been betrayed by the New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade committee and will boycott next year's event. According to Donohue, he had been promised that an anti-abortion group would be allowed to march in the parade in return for allowing one gay group to participate.
To be specific, I asked them to pledge that a pro-life Catholic group would also be permitted. I was told that a formal change in the rules had been approved and that a pro-life group would march. Now I am being told that the list of marching units is set and that no pro-life group will march in next year’s parade. Accordingly, I have decided to withdraw our participation. Why should this matter? For the past two decades I have been the parade’s most vocal defender of its rules. Repeatedly, I have said that gays have no more been banned from marching than pro-life Catholics have: members of both groups can march with other units; they simply can’t march under their own banner. Why? Because the parade is not about gays or abortion, or anything other than St. Patrick. Attempts will now be made to pit me against Timothy Cardinal Dolan, the Grand Marshal of the 2015 parade. The suggestion that I am at odds with the New York Archbishop is not only false, it is despicable. Cardinal Dolan has no more rabid supporter than Bill Donohue, and nothing that has transpired recently changes anything. My reasons for withdrawing from the parade have nothing to do with Cardinal Dolan or with gays. It has to do with being betrayed by the parade committee. They not only told me one thing, and did another, they decided to include a gay group that is neither Catholic nor Irish while stiffing pro-life Catholics. This is as stunning as it is indefensible.

Irish Beauty Queen Comes Out

The Rose Of Tralee is a competition in which Irish communities around the world send a beauty queen to the finals in Ireland's County Kerry. This year's winner is Philadelphia resident Maria Walsh, who just came out. That may prove to be a problem for New York City's St. Patrick's Day group. Via Irish Central:
Right on cue a host of apoplectically angry commentators reminded us why it’s still news when Ireland’s Rose of Tralee sweetheart announces she’s gay. Across the internet they posted strong biblical condemnations or outright bigoted profanities, carefully calculated to wound. It didn’t matter though. Walsh has already won, so they could only lose. Now Walsh’s brilliant win sets the stage for another major public relations battle. In New York, like every prior Rose, she will be feted and fawned over during the 2015 Saint Patrick’s Day season. The Rose of Tralee competition has already show us that Walsh has courage, heart and class, and so hopefully her example will inspire others to show her the same courtesy now. If New York’s Saint Patrick’s Day Parade Committee is still discriminating against – rather than embracing – Irish gay people by 2015 (almost 100 years after the Rising that was fought in the name of freedom for all Irish people) they will look and sound like last century's men.
The world's largest and oldest St. Patrick's Day parade, New York City's group continues to ban the open participation of LGBT groups. It will be very interesting to see how they handle Maria Walsh, particularly if Catholic League blowhard Bill Donohue succeeds in his reported bid to lead the organization.

SOURCE: Bill Donohue Is Angling To Be Named Head Of NYC St. Patrick's Parade

A reliable source who wishes to remain anonymous today tipped me that Catholic League blowhard and anti-gay activist Bill Donohue has submitted himself to be named the head of the New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade.  According to my source, the other leading candidate is Quinnipiac University president John Lahey, who is thought to be a more moderate voice that might be agreeable to finally allowing LGBT groups to march openly in the parade. Current St. Patrick's Day Parade head John Dunleavy, a retired bus driver, is reportedly under pressure to step down after decades of running the event.

This year's parade made international news after Guinness beer suspended its sponsorship over the exclusion of LGBT groups. Donohue has launched a boycott of Guinness in response, promising to make the beer maker "suffer," and he recently claimed to have the support of the Knights Of Columbus. Should Donohue be put in charge of the parade, the repercussions would make the Guinness flap seem like a trivial tempest as few corporations would be willing to align themselves with such a notorious bigot. The 253 year-old New York City parade is the world's largest and draws millions of spectators.

I'll tweet this post to Donohue and see if he is willing to confirm putting himself forward to be named chairman at last week's meeting of the St. Patrick's Day Parade committee.

RELATED: During New York state's marriage equality battle, Donohue declared that gay people don't deserve to be married because people are still getting AIDS.  In 2010 Donohue said that the Catholic Church "doesn't have a pedophile problem, it has a gay problem." Bill Donohue: Knights Of Columbus Will Join My Boycott Of Guinness Beer

"We have amassed over 7,000 email addresses from the Knights of Columbus, constituting over 1,500 councils across all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Today, we are asking the Knights to join us in our boycott of Guinness. We are confident that many Knights will participate. How do we know? Because we have been contacted by many councils already, anticipating our appeal to them. When Guinness pulled the plug on its sponsorship of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in New York City—over the bogus argument that gays are barred from marching—it insulted Catholics of every ethnicity. The only way to send the corporate bullies at Guinness a message is to hit them in the pocket book." - Economic terrorist Bill Donohue, writing for the Catholic League.

GLAAD Head To Donohue: March With Me

"As a fellow Irish New Yorker, I'm hoping Bill will march with me at NYC Pride. I look forward to the day when I can march openly with Bill in the NYC St. Patrick's Day Parade, and not be turned away because of who I am." - GLAAD president Sarah Kate Ellis, inviting Catholic League blowhard Bill Donohue to march with her in the 2014 NYC Pride parade. Earlier today, the Catholic League was granted permission to participate.

NYC Pride Agrees: "Straight Is Great", Catholic League Welcome To March

On Sunday, Guinness Beer announced that it was dropping its sponsorship of the NYC St. Patrick's Day Parade over the event's long-running exclusion of LGBT groups. That move prompted an immediate outcry from anti-gay groups, the loudest of which has been the NYC-based Catholic League, whose leader Bill Donohue yesterday demanded permission for his group to march in the 2014 NYC Pride March behind a banner that would read, "Straight Is Great."  In a letter provided to JMG today, Heritage Of Pride, the organizers of the NYC Pride March, agreed to Donohue's demand.

From Heritage Of Pride's response:
“Mr. Donohue and his group are free to participate in the 2014 March. His group’s presence affirms the need for this year’s Pride theme, ‘We Have Won When We’re One.’ Straight is great – as long as there’s no hate,” said David Studinski, March Director of NYC Pride. Chris Frederick, Managing Director of NYC Pride, added, “Straight allies are great. We have thousands of straight people participating in the Pride March, including Catholic groups, who support LGBT youth, families and married couples.” GLAAD's Commentator Accountability Project provided background information on Bill Donohue's recent statements on LGBT people. On February 27, 2014, Donohue gave a video interview with World Over with Raymond Arroyo in which he stated, "If I wanted to get into their gay pride parade with my own float with big banners saying 'straight is great,' they would have a right to feel put-upon and I wouldn't do that to them."
The letter goes on to note the Catholic League's long-standing opposition to LGBT rights.
Mr. Donohue has been an outspoken opponent of legal recognition of LGBT people, loving LGBT families, the science of sexual orientation and HIV/AIDS education. He continually refers to marriage equality as "crazy" and "one of the most bizarre ideas in human history," and he has equated the marriage equality movement with the "minority of people in South Africa who took away the rights of Black people;" insists “we’re not going to allow gay people to adopt children, that’s against nature, it’s against nature’s God;” champions a program called Courage, which tells LGBT people that a chaste, celibate life is the only acceptable option; and on multiple occasions, Mr. Donohue has referred to AIDS as "self-inflicted" and due to going against “natural order.”
For further examples of anti-gay statements by Catholic League head Bill Donohue, visit the GLAAD Commentator Accountability Project at this link. Embiggen the above letter from Heritage Of Pride to read their response in full. The letter is also available for download at the JMG Scribd account.  Donohue has not yet responded to the decision by Heritage Of Pride. When he does, that reaction will be added as an update to this post.

Chris Cuomo Vs Bill Donohue

CNN host Chris Cuomo really got into it with Catholic League blowhard Bill Donohue today, calling Donohue out on his history of defending the Catholic Church's pedophilia scandals. Cuomo: "The pope is giving you a different message. He's saying: 'Don't make these statements about the homosexuals. Don't make these statements about the Jews. Get back to the what your church is about. Jesus wasn't about what you are doing right now.' Are you going to hear that message or not?" And Donohue goes off in typical style. You might want to watch both clips, if you can bear it.

Bill Donohue: Here's What The Pope Meant

"The pope is right that single-issue Catholics need to rise above their immediate concerns. He did not say we should not address abortion or homosexuality; he simply said we cannot be absorbed by these issues. Both the left and the right should heed his message. The article in the New York Times says U.S. bishops will feel the pinch of these remarks as they often appear 'to make combating abortion, gay marriage and contraception their top public policy priorities.' This is inaccurate. It is not the bishops who have made these issues front and center—it is the Obama administration. It would be more accurate to say the pope would find fault with the bishops if they did not resist these state encroachments on the religious-liberty rights of Catholics." - Catholic League blowhard Bill Donohue.

Bill Donohue Attacks Scott Stringer

"When you voted against pulling the tax-exempt status of Zymurgy, you already knew that its real goal was to promote child rape, yet you did so anyway. Were it not for Attorney General Dennis Vacco, who persevered on appeal to deny the child molesting activists their tax-free status, they might still be in business. Your spokeswoman, Audrey Gelman, said you voted the way you did for constitutional reasons. No one believes you. There is no constitutional imperative allowing an organized band of child rapists not to pay taxes. Moreover, were the lawmakers who disagreed with you, which was most of them, acting unconstitutionally? You need to educate us. The motto of NAMBLA/Zymurgy is, 'Eight Is Too Late.' That’s right—if a kid hasn’t been violated by age eight, it’s not worth the effort. This is the group you defended. We need a complete and honest response: Why did you side with them? We will blanket the Catholic community with this release, and we will disseminate your response, if you have one." - Catholic League blowhard Bill Donohue, responding to Monday's attack on fellow NYC comptroller candidate Scott Stringer by former Gov. Eliot Spitzer.  Donohue is always very quick to accuse others of protecting pedophiles.

Catholic Church Subpoenas Email Records Of Child Molestation Victims Group

As part of their defense for priests accused of child molestation, lawyers for the Catholic Church have subpoenaed SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, demanding to see more than 20 years of their emails even though they are not party to either side in the lawsuits.
A judge in Kansas City ruled that the network must comply because it “almost certainly” had information relevant to the case. The network and its allies say the legal action is part of a campaign by the church to cripple an organization that has been the most visible defender of victims, and a relentless adversary, for more than two decades. “If there is one group that the higher-ups, the bishops, would like to see silenced,” said Marci A. Hamilton, a law professor at Yeshiva University and an advocate for victims of clergy sex crimes, “it definitely would be SNAP. And that’s what they’re going after. They’re trying to find a way to silence SNAP.”
Catholic League blowhard Bill Donohue is in the middle of this, of course.
“SNAP is a menace to the Catholic Church.” Mr. Donohue said leading bishops he knew had resolved to fight back more aggressively against the group: “The bishops have come together collectively. I can’t give you the names, but there’s a growing consensus on the part of the bishops that they had better toughen up and go out and buy some good lawyers to get tough. We don’t need altar boys.” He said bishops were also rethinking their approach of paying large settlements to groups of victims. “The church has been too quick to write a check, and I think they’ve realized it would be a lot less expensive in the long run if we fought them one by one,” Mr. Donohue said.
"We don't need altar boys." What does THAT mean?

Molestation Victims Are Crybabies!

Victims of pedophile priests are just big wailing crybabies, according to a graphic and story posted by the Catholic League. Stop complaining, Timmy! You know you wanted it.
