After yesterday's addition of Sarah Palin, the Family Research Council dropped about a dozen crackpots and deleted their "invited but unconfirmed" names from its Values Voters Summit speakers roster. In addition to the confirmed fuckweasels above, Maggie Gallagher will lead a panel titled "Moral Decline Causes Big Government." Mat Staver will sit on a panel titled "The Assault On Constitutional Rights In A Nanny State." NOM's evil triad of Brian Brown, Frank Schubert, and John Eastman will have a panel all to themselves: "The Future Of Marriage: To The Supreme Court & Beyond."

Frothy Mix, interestingly, will Skype in from Pluto (or wherever his flying saucer may be) to lead a panel on "Reclaiming Blue Collar Conservatives." Heritage Foundation anti-gay wonk Ryan T. Anderson will lead a panel about the "tough questions" on "marriage and religious liberty." (Expect lots of cake talk!)  The most entertaining trio of crackpots promises to be World Net Daily founder Joseph Farah, Janet "Loony Tunes" Porter, and Pastor Rick Scarborough - who will hopefully discuss that class action suit against homosexuality when they talk about "Standing Up To The Assaults On Our Faith"

The list of exhibitors at the Values Voters Summit includes just about every anti-gay and "ex-gay" hate group you've ever heard of, including the World Congress of Families and the Red-Caped Catholic Loons, who presumably will provide the usual bagpipe accompaniment to their Hitler Youthian rants. The NRA will be there to demonstrate proper Uzi usage for grade-schoolers and the Association of Mature American Citizens will be handing out materials denouncing those homofascist commies at the AARP. In the meantime, the only thing we could do was straddle the line between the public sidewalk and private property, hoping that would work. And it did, until the police returned to complain about the honk signs. Apparently, there's an ordinance about honking as well. "Do you have any signs that don't ask drivers to honk?" the police sergeant asked. We did. And the campaign continued. Even without displaying out honk sings, passing vehicles still continued to honk. It would be rather difficult for the police force to flag down hundreds of vehicles, I imagine.

A couple of days ago I posted a portion of the anti-GOProud flyer being handed out at CPAC by the red-caped Catholic loons of Tradition, Family, and Property. The red-caped Catholic loons of Tradition, Family, & Property are handing out a flyer at CPAC that depicts GOProud as a rainbow-hued beaver gnawing at one of the supporting legs of conservatism. Or something. Via Peter Montgomery at Right Wing Watch:

TFP’s flyer says it protests against GOProud’s efforts to “cast itself as a bone fide member of the conservative movement.” TFP believes: "To be true to itself, the conservative movement must battle on all three conservative fronts (defense, fiscal, and social). That individuals and organizations who subscribe to only one or two of the conservative movement’s three legs are still welcome to join the coalition, but should refrain from publicly opposing the rest of the movement’s efforts on the leg or legs they disagree on." TFP says welcoming GOProud into the conservative movement would be like a communist or socialist organization seeking admittance to the conservative movement by claiming to be against abortion. As part of the evidence that TFP marshals to prove that GOProud is not conservative, it notes that the group’s website says it encourages “committed stable, relationships between two people, regardless of sexual orientation, that promote healthy families and create value within our society.” Mercy!

After two years of being banned, this year GOProud was able to buy regular tickets to attend, but they were not allowed to speak on any panels or have a booth.

America Needs Fatima is a side project of the red-caped Catholic loons at Tradition Values & Property. And they say they will hold 10,000 "rosary rallies" against same-sex marriage. Via press release:

America Needs Fatima coordinated 9,077 Rosary Rallies last year. This year, the goal is 10,000 Public Square Rosary Rallies nationwide and the target date is Saturday, October 12, at noon, local time. At the group's campaign headquarters in Rossville, Kansas, national coordinator Francis Slobodnik announced that they had crossed the threshold of 9,800 Rosary Rally Captains and are fast reaching their goal of 10,000 rallies. "We're almost at our goal of 10,000 rosary rallies. Rally captains are really excited and momentum is picking up fast," noted Mr. Slobodnik. "Catholics will proclaim their faith publicly, pray for America, and send a strong pro-life and pro-family message in the public square."
