Trump Disinvited From RedState Event

Trump was to be tonight's headliner and most of the other GOP candidates will be speaking there this weekend. While we enjoy the escalating teabagger implosion, let's not forget that Erick Erickson, the person now leading the charge against Donald Trump, regularly calls you a NAMBLA-supporting member of the gaystapo and a hell-bound mentally ill homofascist. Erickson has also called the First Lady a "Marxist harpy wife" and called a member of the Supreme Court a "goat-fucking child molester." And then there are the times that newly-minted feminist Erick Erickson refers to "ugly feminazis" who should "get in the kitchen and learn to cook." Oh, but he totally has the right to the moral high ground regarding Donald Trump.

Erick Erickson: The Totalitarian Gaystapo Is Like Islamic Radicalism Minus Killing

"The gaystapo has decreed that Mr. Reisner’s businesses must be boycotted. He dared to associate with a conservative. Consequently, Mr. Reisner, to protect his business interests in New York, has been forced to apologize for having an untouchable in his home. The totalitarianism of the gay rights movement is on display more and more. A pizza restauranteur doesn’t want to cater a gay wedding? Burn the business now. A cake baker doesn’t want to bake a cake? Drive the family into the streets. A fire chief thinks homosexuality is a sin? Fire him. It’s not just that the gay rights movement is unwilling to listen to counter-arguments. It’s that they ruthlessly try to destroy anyone who dissents and now anyone who agrees with their agenda, but who dares to allow dissenters into their homes on unrelated business. This is totalitarianism. It is Islamic radicalism minus the death cult. It is America in the 21st century." - Erick Erickson, writing for Red State.

NOTE: The haters will hang onto to that one stupid pizza parlor tweet as evidence of the inherent violence of gay people even though Christian leaders like Matt Barber can employ open advocates for executing all homosexuals. You'll never read about THAT on Red State, of course.

Erick Erickson: Aaron Schock Must Resign

"I will not belabor the point. Rep. Aaron Schock (R-IL)  has proven himself incapable of handling his own money, the money of his donors, and taxpayer money. He has lived excessively off the backs of taxpayers who must be reimbursed and off of donors to whom he is now a servant.  His excuses are now met with revised excuses, further apologies, and corrections to corrected records of expenditures and campaign finance reports. He has lived a life as a celebrity in a city that more and more craves celebrity over competence in office. He should resign. Perhaps Downton Abbey needs someone else to fill the role of an American playboy chasing a Crawley. He can go spend time on the real set instead of trying to dress up his office at our expense or that of his donors." - Fox News commentator Erick Erickson, writing for Red State. Erickson's post includes a link to Schock's 47% rating from the right wing Heritage Foundation. Erickson most recently appeared on JMG when he compared LGBT Americans to ISIS.

Erick Erickson Compares Gays To ISIS

RedState editor Erick Erickson has previously called gay Americans "terrorists." Today he flat-out compares us to ISIS in a post about the Washington state florist.
In Denmark, France, and elsewhere we have seen Islamic extremists take lives because of the Islamic extremists’ beliefs. They do not want tolerance. They do not want pluralism. They do not want to show respect to the views of others. They will take life for being offended. There will be no magnanimity and there will be no mercy. In taking life, the Islamic extremists want the public spectacle. They want not just revenge, but they also want to make others fear and second guess doing the same. They want to silence others and drive them from the town square. They use death and violence to do it. Gay rights activists, with few exceptions like Floyd Lee Corkins and the guy in North Carolina last week, have not turned physically violent. But they are intent on destroying any who disagree with them. They will take the homes, businesses, and life savings of any who defy them. They will use the tools of the state and mob action through boycotts, fear, and intimidation to make it happen. They will not kill but they will threaten and scare. The divide between Islamic extremists and gay rights extremists is at death. They meet on the line at destruction.
There have only been a handful of LGBT-related public accommodations cases in the many years since such laws were instituted in fewer than half of the states. But we're terrorists to ask a business to take our money.

Eric Erickson: Obama Is An Atheist

Erickson writes at RedState:
Barack Obama is not, in any meaningful way, a Christian and I am not sure he needs to continue the charade. With no more elections for him, he might as well come out as the atheist/agnostic that he is. He took his first step in doing so yesterday in a speech reeking with contempt for faith in general and Christianity in particular. The President is a moral relativist. It was clear in his whole speech. He cannot condemn and attack ISIS as he should because in his mind what is truth? Truth is a nebulous concept with our post-modern President. With truth a nebulous concept, right and wrong are too. We know God cares about everyone. We know Christ came to die for sinners. But Christians know Christ is truth itself. To have truth, we must have Christ. To suggest that everyone can have some version of God and some version of truth is worldly babbling, not Christianity. Postscript: No, despite what some think, Barack Obama is not a closet Muslim. Islam teaches that “there is no god but God, Mohammed is the messenger of God.” Obama’s name is neither Allah nor Mohammed. Therefore, there is no room for him to presume himself a god. So, Obama with faith only in himself, must be an atheist/agnostic.
Similar rants are predictably sweeping across Teabagistan today.

GEORGIA: Pastor Calls For End To Gay "Erotic Liberty" During House Invocation

Via the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:
The Rev. Bryant Wright, senior pastor at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church and a former president of the Southern Baptist Convention, delivered the devotional Wednesday in the state House. In that sermon aimed at lawmakers, Wright twice equated gay marriage to “erotic liberty.” Here’s a sampling of his message: “It is just one example of what our culture is going to increasingly see as an issue of erotic liberty versus religious liberty,” Wright said. “We’re liable to see this with our military chaplains in the years ahead if they in good conscience believe they cannot perform same-sex weddings and could be kicked out of the military.” That looming threat, he said, is a reminder of lawmakers’ role in making sure government is “protective of its citizens against evil and is working for the common good.” Religious liberty, Wright said, is a “foundational aspect” of the U.S. Constitution and is for the “common good and welfare of man.” He urged legislators to remember the nation’s heritage “even though a majority of your constituencies have embraced erotic liberty over religious liberty.”
Openly gay Georgia House Rep. Simone Bell responded on her Facebook page:
My direct response to him: Told him he is a disgrace to the clergy, the Word and the state of Georgia. That he squandered his opportunity to bring a message of love to people who have sacrificed to serve the state. That his religious freedom is not being trampled upon, but that he is trampling upon mine and 300,000 + more Georgian's religious freedom to be who God created us to be. He responded that we clearly have a difference of opinion. I told him we have a difference of HUMANITY.
RedState editor Erick Erickson is thrilled.

Erick Erickson: Gay Terrorists Have Won

"A publisher published something that offended. It mocked, it offended, and it showed the fallacy of a religion. It angered. So the terrorists decided they needed to publicly destroy and ruin the publisher in a way that would not only make that destruction a public spectacle, but do it so spectacularly that others would think twice before publishing or saying anything similar. The terrorists did what had to be done to publicly destroy and ruin the offender. So they demanded the Mayor of Atlanta fire the Chief of the Fire Department for daring to write that his first duty was to 'glory God' and that any sex outside of heterosexual marriage was a sin. And the terrorists won in Atlanta." - RedState editor Erick Erickson, writing tonight for his personal site. Erickson's obvious intention is to compare LGBT activists to the Islamist terrorists in France. (Tipped by JMG reader Gil)

Headline Of The Day

RedState founder and Fox News commentator Erick Erickson yesterday declared that since the NIH recently studied obesity in lesbians, that ate up all the money to find a cure for ebola. Seriously. The NIH has annual budget of over $30B. The lesbian study cost $1.5M, which is about 0.005% of the NIH's annual budget.

Erick Erickson Defends Rick Perry

"I already know the sh-tstorm this post will cause online. The gay mafia keeps my twitter feed on file somewhere ready to summon the forces of Mordor to drown out the usefulness of my twitter feed every time I dare say anything they disagree with. In fact, that is an intentional and organized pattern and practice. They wish to wear us out and shut us up. So, again, fewer and fewer voices are willing to speak up. Those of us who can, should speak up. So I will say it – I largely agree with Governor Rick Perry and appreciate him speaking up.  Whether one is born gay or not does not mean God made a person gay. And whether it is the unrepentant alcoholic, homosexual, adulterer, liar, or any of the others the Duck Commander listed, none are going to be saved on the last day without repenting. When those who are willing to speak Truth back to the sound and fury of the age get attacked, silenced, and ridiculed, those of us who agree and are able should speak up and say we agree. So thank you Governor Perry for being a voice in the wilderness of the present madness that has enveloped society." - Former CNN commentator and RedState blogger Erick Erickson.

Quote Of The Day - Erick Erickson

"A Christian baker in Colorado refused to bake a cake for a gay wedding. A judge is now ordering him to do so or face financial penalties. There will be no accommodation between gay rights activists and those seeking religious freedom to opt out of the gay rights movement. Gay rights activists demand tolerance for their lifestyle, but will not tolerate those who choose to adhere to their religious beliefs. Evil preaches tolerance until it is dominate and then it seeks to silence good. We are more and more rapidly arriving at a point in this country where Christians are being forced from the public square unless they abandon the tenets of their faith. In our secular society, Christianity is something you do on a Sunday and who you sleep with defines you." - Red State blogger Erick Erickson, who is filling in for Rush Limbaugh during the holiday break.

Teabagistan Vs GOProud

"Jimmy LaSalvia of or formerly of GOProud is on Facebook letting everyone know Ken Cuccinelli is the 2013 equivalent of David Duke. Because two dudes not being able to buy a china pattern together is the same as not being able to vote, being forced to use separate bathrooms, and being attacked by fire hoses and dogs in the streets. His GOProud partner, Chris Barron went on twitter to declare he voted in Virginia for the Democrat, Terry McAuliffe. When I have pointed out before that GOProud really isn’t a part of the Republican coalition, I was met with calls of homophobia. But they have never been a part of the coalition. It’s worth remembering that today the founders of GOProud equate a small government conservative to a Grand Dragon of the KKK because his Christian faith is, in their mind, equivalent to the Klan. It’s also worth pointing out that folks affiliated with this group have routinely assailed conservatives for their purity tests — conservatives who routinely vote in the general election for the Republican; an action they themselves won’t do." - Erick Erickson, writing for Red State.
