Phyllis Schlafly Has The Sadz

"We have a government of three separate powers and they have their duties, rights and obligations, but nobody assigned to the judicial branch in the Constitution has the right to overturn the law that we’ve had for millennia. It’s just not the kind of country that we live in. A lot of people thought when the Supreme Court handed down its bad decision in Roe v Wade, well the Supreme Court has spoken and that’s it. That settles it. Well, it didn’t settle it. It was just the beginning of a big fight. And eventually that decision’s going to be overturned. But, meanwhile, we’ve cut big holes in it because the American people did not accept the ‘rule of law’ that one human being could belong to another human being. The same thing will happen here." - Phyllis Schlafly, speaking to World Net Daily.

Phyllis Schlafly: Christians Must Battle Gay Marriage Even If That Means They Again Meet Gruesome Deaths Like In Rome

"Christians have expressed views that aren’t welcomed by powerful people since the very beginning. At the onset of Christianity, that meant preaching in opposition to the customs of Rome. Many believers met gruesome deaths because of their faithfulness. But whether a society accepts their views or not, Christians are still charged with preaching the Word, and that includes the truth about marriage. Religious freedom is now at risk. As the elites in politics and the media come out in favor of same-sex marriage, they try to silence different viewpoints. Our First Amendment guarantee of religious freedom would be no match for the same-sex marriage revolution. Supporters of same-sex marriage want to place this new right above all others, including the First Amendment freedom of speech we have always enjoyed." - Phyllis Schlafly, writing for the Eagle Forum.

Signorile Interviews Schlafly At CPAC

Michelangelo Signorile interviewed Eagle Forum founder Phyllis Schlafly this weekend at CPAC.
“The gays have their argument about inevitability,” the 90-year-old author of 25 books told me in an interview for SiriusXM Progress at this year's Conservative Political Action Conference in National Harbor, Maryland, over the weekend, during a book-signing including her new book, Who Killed the American Family? "I don’t think that’s so,” Schlafly continued with a smile, rejecting the “inevitability” argument. “I’m extremely disappointed that the Republican Party, the conservative movement, even the Democratic Party and the churches, have been saying, ‘Well soon the court will decide, and that will be it.’ Well, a lot of people thought that about Roe v. Wade, and we’ve seen the whole abortion movement turned around in the last ten years.” Schlafly has sloughed off the fact that even her own son is gay. (John Schlafly was revealed to be gay in the gay press back in the early '90s and confirmed the reports, but defended his mother and continued working for her.) She’d explained that her son "supports me in everything I do," including fighting what she views as the dangers of "the gay agenda."

TRAILER: Light Wins

Kyle Mantyla writes at Right Wing Watch:
Radical Religious Right activist Janet Porter has released yet another trailer for her upcoming documentary "Light Wins: How To Overcome The Criminalization Of Christianity," which features a who's who of anti-gay activists as well as several Republican members of Congress and presidential hopefuls Rand Paul and Mike Huckabee. "Like a tank in Tiananmen Square," Porter says, as she walks down the middle of a dark street as a pair of headlights bear down upon her, "the homosexual agenda has been running over people since Anita Bryant's courageous stand in the 1970s." After that, it is nothing but 10 minutes of anti-gay activists calling upon Christians to rise up and fight back against the "homosexual agenda."
So many of the most infamous anti-gay villains are in this clip, your computer might just explode from all the spittle-flecked crackpottery.

Phyillis Schlafly: The New Senate Must Block All Of Obama's Judicial Nominees

"It’s a terribly important election, and I’m thrilled with it because it’s almost as big as our Republican victory in 1946. That’s the first one I was involved in, right out of college, and I ran the campaign of an unknown candidate and he won! It was very thrilling. I think the most important job of the Republican Senate is to defeat or reject, or not even take up, any of Obama’s court nominees. He’s already put too many liberals on the court, and we don’t want any more." - Phyllis Schlafly, speaking to World Net Daily. The old Senate, of course, blocked most of Obama's judicial nominees, which is why the Democrats went for the so-called "nuclear option" filibuster change.

Phyllis Schlafly: Early Voting Must Be Stopped Because It Helps Democrats

"Democrats promote early voting for the same reason they oppose voter ID: because they view early voting as helping their side. In the absurdly long 35-day period of early voting in Ohio in 2012, Democrats racked up perhaps a million-vote advantage over Republicans before Election Day was ever reached. Republicans have been slow to realize how early voting helps the Democrats. Most top Republican political operatives firmly believed, right up to the morning of the 2012 election, that Mitt Romney was going to win. Romney lacked a message, too, but he was mainly defeated by the Democrats’ superb ground game, which exploited early voting in key states such as Florida and Ohio. By continuously updating their computer-based information about who had not yet voted, Democrats could harass and nag low-information voters until they turned in their ballots." - Phyllis Schlafly, admitting in World Net Daily what the GOP always officially denies.

This Month From World Net Daily

About the cover story in this month's magazine from World Net Daily:
Newt Gingrich called it an “open, blatant example of the new fascism,” Charles Krauthammer called it “totalitarian,” Pat Buchanan labeled it “the new blacklist” and RedState headlined it as “a fascist purge.” And it wasn’t just conservatives sounding the alarm. Leftist comedian Bill Maher called the perpetrators the “gay mafia,” and even well-known “gay” media personalities condemned it, Andrew Sullivan saying it “disgusts me” and radio talker Tammy Bruce calling out the “gay gestapo.”

They were referring, of course, to the forced resignation of tech prodigy Brendan Eich as CEO of the company he co-founded, Mozilla, developer of the popular Firefox Web browser, all because he had donated $1,000 to California’s Proposition 8 upholding traditional marriage. Everyone knows the Eich story – and almost everyone, it seems, condemns it, as though it were a singularly egregious injustice in today’s America.

But, as revealed in the May issue of WND’s acclaimed monthly Whistleblower magazine, Brendan Eich, far from being a unique or especially shocking case, is just one of a growing multitude of Americans whose lives and livelihoods are being intentionally crushed by “THE NEW FASCISM.”
The issue includes articles by Pat Buchanan, Phyllis Schlafly, Linda Harvey, Scott Lively, and a cavalcade of other crackpots.

VIRGINIA: Haters File 21 Marriage Ban Defense Briefs With Fourth Circuit Court

Twenty-one amicus briefs were filed yesterday with the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in defense of Virginia's ban on same-sex marriage. The briefs were filed on behalf of the usual axis of evil: the Concernstipated Women, the Liberty Counsel, Phyllis Schlafy's Eagle Forum, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, the Mormon Church, the Southern Baptists Convention, the Heritage Foundation, the Virginia Catholic Conference, David Barton's WallBuilders, the Family Research Council, the North Carolina Values Coalition, and the (completely fake) American College of Pediatrics. Also filing briefs are the states of West Virginia and Indiana.

Individuals filing briefs include former NOM chairman Robert George and nutbag homocon Voldemort horcrux Robert Oscar Lopez, who claims that authorities are too afraid of the gay mafia to investigate reports of molestation by gay parents.
Another of the individual filings is from some crackpot named David Boyle who argues, among other deranged claims, that gay people should not be allowed to marry because there was this one time when a lesbian died from "vaginal fisting." Seriously. Equality Case Files has posted all of the briefs at the first link. There's surely nothing worth worrying about in any of them since these are pretty much all the same dirtbags who have lost everywhere else. But if you want to amuse yourself, dig into the briefs and recap what you find in the comments. A better way to waste your Saturday, of course, would be to commit some delicious deviant sodomy. But hey, it's your weekend.

Phyllis Schlafly Endorses Anti-Gay Virginia State Rep. Bob Marshall For US House

Eagle Forum founder Phyllis Schlafly today issued a press release endorsing crazy anti-gay Virginia state Rep. Bob Marshall for the US House.
"Bob has been tested and remained true. He never voted for a tax increase. He passed laws to protect our privacy, increase transparency in government, uphold our constitutional rights, defend innocent life, and uphold Marriage. He authored Virginia's Marriage Amendment which was passed by 1.3 million Virginia voters. Bob sued the Governor and won a unanimous decision striking down 14 unconstitutional taxes. "Bob Marshall has been faithful to Virginia voters for so many years. He is a reliable, tried-and-true candidate. I urge all patriots to support Bob Marshall," Phyllis Schlafly said.
Marshall is running for the seat to be vacated by retiring 17-term GOP Rep. Frank Wolf.

PREVIOUSLY ON JMG: In January Marshall filed an amendment that would grant Virginia state legislators the right to claiming standing in marriage lawsuits. In September 2013, Marshall petitioned the US Supreme Court to overturn Virginia's legalization of sodomy. In May 2012, Marshall attempted to block the appointment of an openly gay state judge because the nominee has "an illegal husband." In 2011 Del. Bob Marshall claimed it is a felony for a state office to fly the rainbow flag. Marshall has also called on Virginia to issue its own currency, and has claimed that God punishes women who have abortions by giving them deformed children. After the DADT repeal bill passed, Marshall tried to have gays banned from the Virginia National Guard.

Phyllis Schlafly: Many Americans Are Moving Out Of Marriage Equality States

Right Wing Watch's Miranda Blue: "The liberal media must be covering up this mass exodus from marriage equality states, because we haven’t heard a single story of someone doing this." Well, there was that one family to got lost at sea for 91 days in their attempt to escape homosexuality. Does that count?

Rewriting The Bible To Make It Worse

Over at Alternet, Richard Schiffman reminds us of a project to re-translate the bible that is now in its fourth year.
Liberal bias in the media pales in comparison to what you’ll find in your standard-issue Bibles, according to Conservapedia.com, a kind of Wikipedia for the religious right. The King James Bible, not to mention more recent translations like the New International Version (NIV), are veritable primers of progressive agitprop, complains Andy Schlafly, the founder of Conservapedia.com. (His mother, Phyllis, is an activist best known for her opposition to feminism and the Equal Rights Amendment.) But not to worry. Andy Schlafly’s group is on the case, and they have invited you to pitch in. Well, maybe not you, exactly, but the "best of the public,” whose assistance is solicited in proposing new wording for left-leaning Bible verses. Don’t know Aramaic, Hebrew or ancient Greek? Not a problem. What they are looking for is not exactly egghead scholarship, but a knack for using words they've read in the Wall Street Journal. They have a list of promising candidates on their website— words like capitalism, work ethic, death penalty, anti-competitive, elitism, productivity, privatize, pro-life—all of which are conspicuously missing from those socialist-inspired Bibles we’ve been reading lately.
Among the verses already changed is that pesky one about rich men not getting into heaven. Hit the link for much more hilarity. (Tipped by JMG reader Boitje)

Feminists Hate Wrestling

"Wresting has been an Olympic sport ever since the Olympic Games were started in ancient Greece. The opposition to wrestling was probably coming from the feminists who do not excel in the sport of wrestling, and who dislike anything that is truly masculine, as wrestling certainly is. I'm happy to report that our campaign was successful and wrestling will remain as one of the sports in the Olympic Games. If any sport could be targeted for elimination, I suggest ping-pong. I don't think that is really a sport worthy of inclusion. Even I can play ping-pong, and I'm no athlete. The attempt to cancel wrestling was really a political decision rather than anything to do with athletics. Let's hope the public wakes up to the feminist war against manly sports and begins defending sports and exposing the nonsense of the feminists." - Phyllis Schlafly, claiming to have personally convinced the International Olympic Committee to reinstate wrestling for the 2020 Games.

Headline Of The Day

The Nation today reports on the Conservative Action Project, which the New York Times yesterday declared to be the architects of the shutdown.
The Conservative Action Project [is] an ad hoc coalition created in the early years of the Obama administration to reorganize the conservative movement. The coalition is managed by Heritage and the Council for National Policy. The latter organization, dubbed once as “the most powerful conservative group you’ve never heard of,” is a thirty-year-old nonprofit dedicated to transforming the country into a more right-wing Christian society. Founded by Tim LaHaye, the Rapture-obsessed author of the “Left Behind” series, CNP is now run by Christian-right luminaries such as Phyllis Schlafly, Tony Perkins and Kenneth Blackwell.

Yesterday, The New York Times revealed in great detail how the Conservative Action Project has orchestrated the current showdown. The group initially floated the idea of attaching funding for Obamacare to the continuing resolution, and followed up with grassroots organizing, paid advertisements and a series of events designed to boost the message of senators like Ted Cruz. Though the Heritage Foundation, through its 501(c)(4) Heritage Action sister organization, has played a lead role in sponsoring advertisements and town-hall meetings, tax disclosures reviewed by TheNation.com show that the Council for National Policy has provided a steady stream of funding for the organizing effort.
I can see your shocked faces from here.  From yesterday's Times article:
The billionaire Koch brothers, Charles and David, have been deeply involved with financing the overall effort. A group linked to the Kochs, Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce, disbursed more than $200 million last year to nonprofit organizations involved in the fight. Included was $5 million to Generation Opportunity, which created a buzz last month with an Internet advertisement showing a menacing Uncle Sam figure popping up between a woman’s legs during a gynecological exam.

The groups have also sought to pressure vulnerable Republican members of Congress with scorecards keeping track of their health care votes; have burned faux “Obamacare cards” on college campuses; and have distributed scripts for phone calls to Congressional offices, sample letters to editors and Twitter and Facebook offerings for followers to present as their own. One sample Twitter offering — “Obamacare is a train wreck” — is a common refrain for Speaker John A. Boehner.

Quote Of The Day - Phyllis Schlafly

"We must shame and cut off taxpayers' money from the groups that killed the American family, including feminists, judges, legislators, public school teachers and administrators, so-called child protection agencies, professors, psychologists, college courses, government handouts and Democratic politicians who want big-government spending in order to win votes. The problem cannot be remedied by prohibiting same-sex marriage (even by a constitutional amendment) or by telling men to 'man up.' - Phyllis Schlafly, calling for the government to end all funding for everybody, basically.
