An exorcism performed outside a Starbucks coffee shop in Austin, Texas, was caught on video, mySA reported on Wednesday. In the video, a group of men can be seen with their hands placed another man, who is spewing saliva into a red plastic cup. “All your legions of poison. All your legions out! Out! All your legions of poison out! In Jesus’ mighty name,” the apparent leader of the exorcism says. “You have no legal ground to be in here.” “We ask you to hug this man with your love, God,” he adds. A Reddit user Umgar took credit for uploading the video to YouTube, and insisted the bizarre scene was not “a student film project, prank, or social experiment.” “Just the Bible belt,” the user remarked.

In a transparent attempt to whip up anti-gay fervor in Islamic nations, Brian Brown declared in April 2012 that NOM was buying anti-gay banner ads which denounce Starbucks' support for LGBT rights. Arabic-language ads were placed in United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Kuwait, all of which criminalize homosexuality. Despite NOM's campaign, Starbucks has continued its rapid expansion into foreign markets and has thousands of locations in 63 countries. NOM's Boycott Of Target Is Flopping Even Worse Than All Their Other Boycotts

A laughably measly 2583 people have signed NOM's boycott petition for Target since the retail giant submitted pro-gay marriage briefs last week in the states of Wisconsin and Indiana. NOM's 30-month-old boycott petition for Starbucks has yielded 68,745 names - a number that has scarcely budged in the last two years. Their 25-month-old boycott petition for General Mills petered out in the fall of 2012 and the current total of 27,612 names is only a couple of hundred more than a year ago. And of course, the more recent boycott petition for trillion-dollar international banking behemoth JP Morgan Chase remains stalled with barely more than 7000 names. Are you seeing the trend here?

Starbucks Goes All In On Education, Offers Full College Tuition To Employees

Starbucks announced late Sunday it will pay for thousands of its workers to take courses through Arizona State University to complete their bachelor's degree. The Starbucks College Achievement plan will let full- and part-time workers choose from 40 undergraduate degree programs at ASU that will be delivered online. 135,000 employees are eligible. "There's no doubt the inequality within the country has created a situation where many many Americans are being left behind," CEO Howard Schultz says in a video produced to announce the program. "The question I think for all of us is, 'Should we accept that, or should we try to do something about it?'" "We can't wait for Washington," he adds.

Amazing. Workers do not have to commit to remaining with the company after graduation. ASU's online degree program costs about $10K per year.

Starbucks: Please Don't Bring Your Guns

Starbucks is asking its customers to stop bringing firearms into their outlets. Gun nuts in "open carry" states have been staging parties in their stores and selling t-shirts with the logo seen here.

In an interview, CEO Howard Schultz said the decision to ask customers to stop bringing guns into stores came as a result of the growing frequency of "Starbucks Appreciation Days" in recent months, in which gun rights advocates turn up at Starbucks cafes with firearms. Last month, for example, the company closed down a store in Newtown, Conn., for the day after learning that gun rights advocates planned to hold a "Starbucks Appreciation Day" at the location. The store was near the school where a gunman killed 20 children and six women. Schultz said the events mischaracterized the company's stance on the issue and the demonstrations "have made our customers uncomfortable." Schultz hopes people will honor the request not to bring in guns but says the company will nevertheless serve those who do. "We will not ask you to leave," he said.

The company will publish full-page ads in major newspapers tomorrow to publicize their request.
