Hackers Hit Ashley Madison

Via the Associated Press:
The parent company of Ashley Madison, a matchmaking website for cheating spouses, says it was hacked and that the personal information of some of its users was posted online. In addition, the person or persons behind the attack are threatening to release all of the site's personal information — including its members' sexual fantasies and financial information — if the company doesn't take Ashley Madison offline, according to a prominent security blog. Toronto-based Avid Life Media Inc. says it has had the hackers' posts — which included snippets of personal information — taken down and has hired a technology security firm. The company and law enforcement agencies are investigating. The breach was first reported late Sunday by Brian Krebs of KrebsonSecurity, a website that focuses on cybersecurity. Ashley Madison, whose slogan is "Life is short. Have an affair," purports to have 37 million members.
This is probably our fault.

Billy Graham's Grandson Resigns From Megachurch After Admitting Affair

Via the Washington Post:
Billy Graham’s grandson Tullian Tchividjian has resigned from his pulpit at Coral Ridge Presbyterian, a high-profile church in south Florida, after admitting he had an affair. Tchividjian, 42, has been married to his wife, Kim, since 1994 and they have three children. Many have considered Tchividjian (pronounced cha-vi-jin) a rising star in evangelicalism, especially in Reformed circles. He is the fourth Florida megachurch pastor to resign after having affairs, including the son of megachurch pastor Joel Hunter.

In 2009, Tchividjian succeeded the late James Kennedy as senior pastor of Coral Ridge. Kennedy was one of the architects of the Religious Right, a movement of evangelicals who became intertwined in more conservative politics. However, Tchividjian decided to preach less about politics, unlike his uncle Franklin Graham, founder of Samaritan’s Purse. Billy Graham, 96, was one of the most influential religious leaders of the 20th century and an adviser to many U.S. presidents. Tchividjian’s mother is Billy Graham’s oldest child.
The church has issued a statement:
Several days ago, Pastor Tullian admitted to moral failure, acknowledging his actions disqualify him from continuing to serve as senior pastor or preach from the pulpit, and resigned – effective immediately. We are saddened by this news, but are working with and assisting Pastor Tullian and his family to help them through this difficult time, and asking people to join us in praying that God will bring restoration through this process and healing to all involved.
Franklin Graham is Tchividjian's uncle.

Married Anti-Gay Missouri GOP House Speaker Busted For Sexting With College Freshman: "I'll Leave You Quivering"

Earlier this year the Missouri affiliate of the Family Research Council celebrated GOP House Speaker John Diehl after he filed an anti-gay marriage amicus brief with the Eighth Circuit Court. Today the FRC is very, very quiet after the opposite-married Diehl was busted for sexting with a barely legal college intern. Via the Kansas City Star:
The conversations unveil a flirty rapport and suggest an intimacy between arguably the state’s most influential lawmaker and a young woman taking some pleasure in a secret association. The texts show occasional efforts by Diehl and the intern to meet in person. They range from mundane chatter, about boring meetings and dreading speeches, to the more sexually suggestive. Diehl declined to comment. The intern, who has hired an attorney specializing in employment matters, told The Star that the text messages were not real. Meantime, she has told confidants that she had an ongoing relationship with Diehl. Multiple sources helped The Star confirm that the screenshots of the texts, which show Diehl’s business cellphone number, originated from the intern’s smartphone. The text conversations also included photographs of each of them. And others who know Diehl well said they recognized the language and tone of the conversations from their own text exchanges with him.
The unnamed freshman attends Missouri Southern State University, which has abruptly canceled its internship program with the state government. Diehl and his wife of 23 years have three children and his eldest son attends West Point. Diehl last appeared on JMG when he sponsored a bill to ban gay-straight alliance clubs in public schools. Robertson: You Can Forgive Your Husband For Cheating With Another Man

After that question Robertson tells a viewer that people on Social Security must still tithe. And then he closes with a rant about lesbians. "There so much lesbian stuff! Lesbian this, lesbian the other. So much homosexual...the media is pushing this as hard as they can possibly push it. I don't know what to do!"

ALABAMA: Gay Lawmaker Threatens To Reveal Colleagues' Adulterous Affairs

"I will not stand by and allow legislators to talk about ‘family values’ when they have affairs, and I know of many who are and have. I will call our elected officials who want to hide in the closet out. It is pretty well known that we have people in Montgomery who are or have had affairs. I just want them to be careful what they’re saying, some of it might come back to stick on them." - Openly gay Alabama state Rep. Patricia Todd, speaking today to the Montgomery Times-Daily.

GOD TV Founder Admits Adultery

Televangelist Rory Alec, who with his wife Wendy founded the GOD TV network, has confessed to adultery. Via the virulently anti-gay Charisma News:
Another leader in the body of Christ has admitted to a "moral failure" concerning his marriage. Rory Alec has resigned as chairman and CEO of the network he co-founded with his wife, Wendy. "After 20 years of service, I have had a moral failure this year," Rory said. "For this reason, I am stepping down. Please forgive me for the disappointment I've caused, but I know your eyes are on Jesus who is the author and finisher of your faith and not on me, an imperfect man. It is with a heavy heart that I confirm my season with GOD TV is over for now." Wendy, co-founder and director of television at GOD TV, will lead the network with the support of its senior management team and the company's board. GOD TV will continue its international operations.
GOD TV is available in over 250 million homes worldwide. Right Wing Watch reminds us about that time the Alecs exorcised the demons of Jezebel out of President Obama.

LOUISIANA: GOP Rep. Vance McAllister Says His Christian Wife Forgives His Cheating So Send Him Back To Congress

Philandering opposite marriage champion Vance McAllister wants you to know that his "Christian wife" is giving him a second chance. Therefore the voters of Louisiana should do the same. Praise! Glory! As I noted earlier today, McCallister is up against five other GOP candidates in the primary, including Zach Dasher, the nephew of Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson.

New Regnerus Study: Gays Are Sluts

Discredited, debunked, and denounced researcher Mark Regnerus writes at Public Discourse:
Churchgoers who oppose same-sex marriage sense that they are out of step with the rest of the nation about sex and relationships. (The numbers above reinforce that.) And Christians who favor legalizing same-sex marriage often remain embattled with those who oppose it, and yet sense that their own views on sexuality still lag behind those gay and lesbian Christians from whom they’ve have become convinced of the legitimacy of same-sex marriage. That, too, is true. Gay and lesbian Christians, in turn, have much in common with gay and lesbian non-Christians—their social circles often overlap. The sexual norms of the former are not as permissive as those of the latter but are still well above the national average in permissiveness. The latter likely constitutes a reference group for gay and lesbian Christians (together with heterosexual Christians with whom they are in fellowship). Given the rather massive divide in attitudes about sexual and romantic relationships evidenced in the table above, reference group theory—if employed here—would suggest that the current division between these groups of churchgoing Christians will remain far into the future. Even if a share of American Christians who presently oppose same-sex marriage track in more liberal directions—and it would be shrewd to presume that this will occur—those Christians who already support same-sex marriage are themselves still tracking in that same direction. And, from the looks of it, they have plenty of territory to cover yet.
Hate group leader Brian Brown has already issued a money beg based on the above chart.
Activists trying to force a redefinition of marriage on America have constantly evaded the question, "what is marriage?" Meanwhile, they have insisted that gays and lesbians simply want access to the same sacred institution of marriage and that they don't intend to change anything about that institution. But the survey responses from gay men and lesbians themselves don't support these claims. The institution envisioned by those who want to redefine marriage isn't faithful... it isn't exclusive... it isn't permanent... put bluntly, it isn't marriage. We must stand up for the truth about marriage—now more than ever—before it is "redefined" out of existence! Won't you please consider making a financial investment in the National Organization for Marriage to help us defend marriage and the faith communities that sustain it?

The report documents that gays and lesbians have a very different view of the core values of marriage that we hold, and that have been at the heart of biblical marriage since the beginning. For example, over 80% of non-Christian gays and lesbians believe no strings attached sex is OK. Nearly 80% of them say viewing pornography is OK. Three-quarters say pre-marital cohabitation is a good idea. And an astonishing 37% say that marital infidelity is sometimes a good thing. This study should sound an alarm and serve as a wake-up call to those who want to remain silent in the face of the movement to redefine marriage, because that movement seems to correlate with a push to abandon traditional sexual morality altogether.
As we all know, the anti-gay hate industry has jumped from argument to argument in their opposition to same-sex marriage. Now that the latest claims that gays are terrible parents have been widely debunked, their next ploy appears to be proclaiming that gays are porn-crazy sluts.

LA Gov. Bobby Jindal Calls On GOP Rep. Vance McAllister To Resign Over Affair

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal yesterday called on first term GOP Rep. Vance McAllister to resign after being exposed in an affair with a now-fired staffer. Joining the call is Louisiana state GOP chairman Roger Villere.
Gov. Bobby Jindal, R-La., called the congressman's behavior an embarrassment. "Congressman McAllister says he wants privacy to work on his issues with his family. The best way to get privacy and work on putting his family back together is to resign from Congress," Jindal said. Meanwhile, state GOP chairman Roger Villere issued a blistering statement calling on McAllister to resign, but so far, the 40-year-old freshman congressman was rejecting the calls for him to immediately give up his seat. "Mr. McAllister's extreme hypocrisy is an example of why ordinary people are fed up with politics. A breach of trust of this magnitude can only be rectified by an immediate resignation," Villere said. "He has embarrassed our party, our state and the institution of Congress," the chairman continued.
The above-linked report notes that Villere did not call for the resignation of Sen. David "Diaper Boy" Vitter when he was exposed for patronizing prostitutes. McAllister ran on a platform of conservative Christian family values and the defense of "natural marriage." Some believe that his affair was exposed in retaliation for being "soft" on Obamacare.

Tea Party Defender Of Traditional Marriage Busted Wrecking His Traditional Marriage

Freshman Rep. Vance McAllister (R-LA), who campaigned on a platform of "defending our Christian way of life" and on the "defense of natural marriage" has been caught on video making out with a young female staffer. Local news outlets are speculating about an affair. McAllister has issued the usual statement asking for privacy while his family gets through this extremely fucking embarrassing time.
There’s no doubt I’ve fallen short and I’m asking for forgiveness. I’m asking for forgiveness from God, my wife, my kids, my staff and my constituents who elected me to serve. Trust is something I know has to be earned whether you’re a husband, a father or a congressman. I promise to do everything I can to earn back the trust of everyone I’ve disappointed. From day one, I’ve always tried to be an honest man. I ran for Congress to make a difference and not just be another politician.
McAllister was elected in November 2013 special election after GOP Rep. Rodney Alexander resigned to join the administration of Gov. Bobby Jindal. During his campaign McAllister sought and received the endorsement of the Duck Dynasty clan.

CT Pastor Drops Dead During Adultery Confession To His Congregation

Via the Connecticut Post:
A congregation loudly confronted its longtime pastor about his alleged infidelity -- and in the midst of their yelling, the pastor dropped dead. That's what happened Sunday at the Miracle Faith World Outreach Church, according to members of the congregation and police sources. Bishop Bobby Davis, pastor of the Harriet Street church since its founding in 1967, was pronounced dead at Bridgeport Hospital. "After the service on Sunday the bishop's family asked us to remain in the church and the bishop confessed to us something that happened long ago," said Judy Stovall, an elder at the church. "He wanted to come clean with all of us. He wanted to ask our forgiveness."
A member of the congregation says they were actually shouting their support for the pastor.

UPDATE: It turns out there is MUCH more to the story according to the Christian Post.
One source, who asked not to be identified during an interview with The Christian Post on Thursday, said the confession wasn't that clean-cut based on what they were told, and feels the situation could have been handled better. He (Bishop Davis) had confessed it (infidelity) personally to his wife prior to the service, and she called a meeting after church with just the members and the members stayed. He wasn't there at the time, he was somewhere else apparently, neither of them were in the service that morning. They had one of their pastors do the service," explained the source. "From what I was told, she (pastor's wife) told the congregation what he had done. And so, when he comes through the door he had no idea what he was walking into. So it wasn't even. 'We're gonna make an announcement today' ... in a unified way as a couple," the source continued. "I'm told that when he walked through the door she basically told him, 'Tell them what you just told me,' which is what induced the heart attack, because it's not like he was walking into it knowing," the source explained.

BRITAIN: Anti-Gay Christian B&B Owner Exposed For Attempted Adultery

Remember that poor Christian couple in the UK that was so horribly oppressed by homofascists after they refused to rent to a gay couple and then lost their case? Here's today's sanctity of marriage hypocrisy alert:
Obsessed Mike Wilkinson, 58, made passes at Sacha Williams-Rowe when she sought comfort at his church after being stabbed by her ex-boyfriend. The father-of-four yesterday admitted his infatuation with the vulnerable single mum, saying: “I developed feelings I shouldn’t have. I got too close.”

Wilkinson showered Sacha, 32, with gifts, including a pink Bible, a watch and silver chain and cross. He also paid off nearly £2,000 in rent arrears but begged Sacha to hide it from his wife. He sent her hundreds of texts, saying he wanted to give her the “biggest, longest, warmest most exciting hug ever and kisses everywhere you allow”. And he told her: “I love you sooo much. I couldn’t sleep properly. Kept thinking of you and squeezing my pillow.”

The Sunday Mirror is publishing the details of Wilkinson’s behaviour in a bid to expose his hypocrisy. The church leader and his religious wife, Susanne, sparked national outrage in 2010 when they told Michael Black, 64, and his partner John Morgan, 59, they could not stay in the same bed at the £75-a-night Swiss Bed and Breakfast in Cookham, Berkshire.
Last October a British court ordered the couple to pay £3,600 to the gay men, prompting Pastor Wilkinson to declare, "For us, sex when you’re unmarried is a sin before God."  Shortly after the ruling was announced, far right National Party leader and member of the European Parliament Nick Griffin tweeted the home address of the gay couple, threatening to send a "justice team" to their home for their "relentless bullying" of Pastor Wilkinson and his wife. Griffin was then investigated by the police for making threats against the couple.

CBN Apologizes For Pat Robertson

Last week Pat Robertson earned national headlines when he counseled a woman to ignore her husband's cheating because, "Well, he's a man."  His own network, the Christian Broadcasting Network has issued a statement of regret.  Kind of.
"As a first step in the process, Dr. Robertson stated that she should stop dwelling on the cheating. Next, he recommended that she remind herself of all the reasons she fell in love with him in the first place so that she might try to fall back in love with him all over again. Lastly, his point was that everyone is human and there is much temptation outside of the home, so she should do whatever she can to strengthen their home and relationship. His intent was not to condone infidelity or to cast blame. We regret any misunderstanding."
One man, one woman, for life. Except for that middle one. And that last one.

Pat Robertson: Husbands Cheat On Wives Because "Well, They're Men"

According to the Bible, homosexuality is an abomination worthy of death, but so is heterosexual adultery. Not so in Pat Roberson's world.  Right Wing Watch provides a recap:
On today’s 700 Club, Robertson told a woman whose husband was cheating on her that she should stop focusing on the adultery and instead ponder, “Does he provide a home for you to live in, does he provide food for you to eat, does he provide clothes for you to wear, is he nice to the children…is he handsome?” After encouraging the woman to focus on the positives rather than her husband’s adultery, which Robertson imagined to be a one night stand with a stripper in a hotel room, he said she should “give him honor instead of trying to worry about it.”
Sanctity of marriage! One man, ONE woman! Forever!

Headline Of The Day

As we've seen a thousand times here in America, the guilty dog always barks the loudest.
A top Tory politician who claimed marriage could only work between “one man and one woman” is today exposed as a cheating husband. Ambitious MP Bob Blackman had an 11-year affair behind devoted wife Nicola’s back, his former mistress reveals. Carol Shaw tells how he used to sneak away from home for regular Friday afternoon romps with her when they were both Tory councillors. She says they also had sex in his marital bed and at an office where he worked.

Carol, 62, kept a lid on their affair until the outspoken right-winger controversially waded into the debate on gay marriage earlier this month. After Blackman, 58, insisted marriage had to be “between one man and one woman” his infuriated secret ex-lover decided enough was enough. “I couldn’t believe a man who had an affair with me for over 11 years could have the cheek to preach about the sanctity of marriage,” she told the Sunday Mirror.
Earlier this month Blackman called for the return of Section 28, a Thatcher-era bill which forbade the mention of homosexuality as a "pretended family relationship" in public schools. Blackman:
"A very small number of people have same-sex relationships where children are involved… there may be some. The key point is what is happening in schools particularly to very young children, what they’re educated and what they’re told. I was one of those that strongly believed that Section 28 was the right rules to have in school so that we should not promote in any way shape or form promote same-sex relationships, I still abide by that and feel thats the right way forward, and if teachers are forced to say same-sex relationships are equivalent to heterosexual relationships I’d be very opposed to that.”
