FRANCE: Magazine Ordered To Pay €20K For Outing Leader Of Neo-Nazi Party

France's Closer Magazine has been ordered to pay €20K for invading the privacy of a neo-Nazi party leader when it outed him as gay. Via Pink News:

Florian Philippot is the deputy leader of the French Front National – which was allied with the British National Party, and has been accused of fostering homophobic violence by aligning itself with aggressive anti-equal marriage factions and violent groups. Earlier this month, Closer published four pages of photos taken in Vienna of Mr Philippot with a television journalist presented as his boyfriend whose face was blurred out. AFP reports Gregoire Lafarge, Mr Philippot’s lawyer, had argued in court that the magazine had not acted in the public interest but purely to make money. “Mr Philippot is admittedly a public figure but he is not a celebrity and has always explained that sexuality is an intimate affair,” he said. “To ‘out’ (someone) is to stigmatise. After sexuality, what will we throw out to the public – religion, health?” added Mr Lafarge, who had initially asked for 50,000 euros in damages.

The magazine has also been ordered to publish the verdict on its front page.

FRANCE: Neo-Nazi National Front Leader To Sue Magazine For Outing Him

The deputy leader of France’s Front National is to take Closer magazine to court for printing photos it implies prove he is gay. Florian Philippot is to lodge a complaint against Closer for invasion of privacy, the party leader, Marine Le Pen, announced on Friday. The case comes amid dissent in the far-right party's ranks over recruiting openly gay members. Philippot does not want to give “this rag” any publicity, Le Pen told a press conference, but he will take Closer to court. Claiming that she and her children had also been victims of invasions of privacy, the far-right leader said she hoped that Philippot’s case would lead to a sentence severe enough to prevent the paper from continuing such practises. Le Pen is a trained lawyer and she and her party have a penchant for taking critics, including US-born singer Madonna, to court.

FRANCE: Vice President Of Neo-Nazi National Front Party Outed As Gay

A French gossip magazine sparked outrage across the political spectrum on Friday by "outing" the far-Right Front National's vice president, Florian Philippot, as homosexual. The rare breach of Gallic press protocol is an embarrassment for the FN, whose attitude towards homosexuals has historically ranged from ambivalent to downright homophobic. Closer, which scored a global scoop in January by publishing photos of French president, François Hollande, visiting his secret lover Julie Gayet, on Friday released pictures of Mr Philippot with his boyfriend, an unnamed TV journalist, on a trip to Vienna last week. "At last a real weekend away from Paris," it headlined, followed by an inside article entitled: "Yes to love for all" – a play on words with France's recent Marriage for All bill legalising gay marriage. Politicians across the board slammed the revelation as an unacceptable breach of Mr Philippot's private life.

Among those denouncing the revelation are National Front head Marine Le Pen and the Socialist Party, which pushed through France's same-sex marriage bill. Two weeks ago the Kremlin lent the National Front €9M in the first installment of a reported €40M payment presumably meant to help tilt France's government to the far right. And today we learn that there's an even worse French version of Ken Mehlman sitting on that pile of Russian money.

PREVIOUSLY ON JMG: The National Front is a backer of the anti-gay Manif Pour Tous and has supported its numerous, vicious and often violent rallies, as have hate group leaders Brian Brown and Tony Perkins.  Founder Jean-Marie Le Pen has been convicted six times for inciting racial hatred, including for denying that the Holocaust took place. Earlier this year he "joked" that his critics, who include Madonna, will be in the next "batch" headed for the gas chambers.  He has also "joked" that ebola is the "solution" to Europe's immigration problems. Last year Le Pen's daughter, Marine Le Pen, herself a failed candidate for France's presidency, praised the man who committed suicide at Notre Dame Cathedral in protest of same-sex marriage. In February of this year Le Pen's granddaughter, 24 year-old Marion Maréchal-Le Pen, led a massive anti-gay march through the streets of Paris. In January of this year the youth leader for the National Front called for France to institute anti-gay laws similar to those in Russia.

The reason that I occasionally quote Mainwaring, should you be unfamiliar with his douchery, is that he is regularly trotted out by anti-gay hate groups like a two-headed snake at a backwater county fair. Hate groups love him because like that snake he's a rare mutation - a gay man whose obsessive mission is to inflame anti-gay hatred. Mainwaring opens the above-linked piece by printing several JMG comments from last week's post in which I quoted his declaration that gay marriage will be the end of human civilization. Mainwaring doesn't understand why JMG readers "don't have the decency to be civil" in disagreeing with him and must resort to "fourth-grade-girl sniping." After all, he says, name-calling is "what we learn to do in kindergarten." And then he calls you fat, old, and hairy. So there.

GOProud's New Straight Chairperson Has A Big Problem With JMG Commenters

Probably because they themselves haven't done anything worth mentioning, GOProud has published their third or fourth opinion column denouncing JMG commenters. Today's whinefest is the first public statement from new chairperson Lisa De Pasquale, other than her press release issued on the day that their now "chairman emeritus" Chris Barron resigned in the face of an outing scandal.

Jervis, who describes his website as “a homo goulash fighting the fascist right,” routinely attacks gay conservatives and their allies. You know how well-meaning adults always tell children to ignore the bullies? It doesn’t work with gay-left activists like Jervis. Until now, I have never engaged or mentioned Jervis in any public forum, but he has routinely targeted me simply for being a member of GOProud’s Advisory Council. Now that I am serving as the interim chairman of the GOProud Board of Directors, I don’t expect his attacks to let up. Yet Jervis cloaks himself in empty rhetoric supporting the “It Gets Better” project. In addition to his own blog posts and comments on Twitter, Jervis turns a blind eye to comments on his blog that are just as ugly as the comments of the bullies he claims to fight. For instance, one commenter wrote in his comments section, “Every time a gay suicide is reported on the news, Mr. & Mrs. Barron shake their heads and say ‘Dammit … it should have been Chris’” — a reference to Chris Barron. Another wrote, “If you’re going to run with [Coulter] you better wear armour.”

"Routinely targeted"? Well, there's the above-cited GOProud press release that was excerpted here in December. Other than that, De Pasquale's name has never appeared here. As for Twitter, see for yourself. But hey, if Lady Miss Straight GOProud wants some attention, we're happy to give it to her. First, however, she should probably do something other than complain about anonymous meanies on the interwebs.

GOProud On Barney Frank's Retirement

You may recall that GOProud supported Frank's 2010 opponent Sean Bielat, who opposed the repeal of DADT, opposed ENDA, and opposed just about every other aspect of civil equality for "average gay people." GOProud also paid for homophobic ads that characterized Barney Frank as "catty" and compared him to one of the Real Housewives.

Hate Groups Side With GOProud

As it feeds perfectly into their ongoing meme about violent homofascists, the National Organization for Marriage and the American Family Association today both picked up on GOProud's claim that unknown members of the "gay left" had physically assaulted reality show cast member Taylor Garrett.

NOM weighed in with the above headline on a post that approvingly links the Daily Caller story where Garrett derides gay Democrats "who want me to live on their plantation." But leave it to the AFA's Bryan Fischer to neatly pick up GOProud's "gay Gestapo" claim and tie Garrett's story into his long-running "Nazis were gay" theme.

Homosexual activists have their own version of Sharia law and their own version of jihad, and Taylor Garrett ran afoul of their Sharia law and thus became a victim of gay jihad as a result. I have been widely pilloried for correctly reminding the public that although Nazis did punish homosexuals who didn’t fit their mold (the effeminate kind), they were almost without exception homosexuals themselves. Well, you can ask Taylor Garrett if homosexuals ever attack homosexuals, and he’ll set your mind straight on that one.

The Gay Gestapo Strikes! Again!

The kapos at GOProud have found a sinister link between ousted Oscars producer Brett Ratner and JMG, even though I've never blogged about him. From Chris Barron's just-posted piece on Tucker Carlson's Daily Caller site.

GLAAD is the leading mouthpiece for the gay Gestapo in this country. While pretending to be the vanguard for tolerance and diversity, the gay Gestapo is actually committed to stomping out anyone who doesn’t buy into their radical left-wing political agenda. For all the talk of “tolerance” and “diversity,” it is clear that there is zero tolerance for ideological diversity with the gay Gestapo.

GLAAD’s tag line is “Words and images matter.” Of course, this didn’t stop GLAAD from giving its “Blogger of the Year Award” to Joe Jervis of the blog “Joe My God.” Jervis’s blog, which has been the subject of a Daily Caller story in the past, regularly attacks gay conservatives. As was pointed out in the Daily Caller story from earlier this year, “Jervis’s site is littered with hateful and misogynistic comments on his message boards …”

Unbelievably, Jervis goes as far as allowing calls for actual violence against gay conservatives to stand on his site. On two separate occasions, Jervis has openly ridiculed incidents of violent anti-gay hate crimes against gay conservatives. Apparently, words and images don’t matter to GLAAD’s members as long as the subject of those attacks is someone they disagree with politically.

Everybody got that? We're the "dumb as shit gay left Taliban" and "the gay Gestapo," but don't call THEM any naughty names! Cuz that's just mean! Such language makes Jimmy LaSalvia's frosted bangs positively quiver with lady rage! Oh well, at least they're taking time out from their regular Twitter campaign of calling me fat.

LaSalvia goes on to express outrage that anybody would suspect that either he or GOProud member Taylor Garrett had staged the hate crimes both allegedly suffered. Garrett claimed to have had a rock thrown though his window during the launch week of his Logo reality series A-List: Dallas. LaSalvia claimed to have scared off a group of black teenaged would-be gay-bashers by pretending to have a gun. He turned that alleged incident into a week-long round of media appearances to promote GOProud's positions on gun rights.
