OTTAWA: Thousands Of Students Protest, Ann Coulter's Speech Canceled

After a near riotous protest by thousands of University of Ottawa students angered by a racist remark Ann Coulter made yesterday an Ontario college, security officials canceled her speech at the school tonight.
A spokesman for the group that organized the event said there were fears for Coulter’s well-being after about two thousand people gathered outside the venue to protest her presence there. Coulter is a darling of the U.S. right-wing who uses incendiary language to sell millions of books as well as her syndicated column. She sparked more controversy during a speech at University of Western Ontario Monday night when she told a 17-year-old Muslim student to “take a camel” instead of a the flying carpet she has previously suggested Muslims use for transportation. Even before her Canadian tour began, Coulter received a pre-emptive and private caution about the limits of free speech in this country from the provost of the University of Ottawa. The letter was immediately leaked to select conservative news organizations, with Coulter telling one that the university was “threatening to criminally prosecute me for my speech.”
During the protest, Coulter texted the following message which was posted on on Free Republic: "2000 protesters surrounding building with rocks and sticks -- pulled fire alarm in the building. Blogs calling for ann coulter to be hurt. MPs were banned from going, i was denounced by an MP in the parliement today. cops just shut it down!"

VIDEO: Here's the clip from Ontario, where Coulter told a female Muslim student that Muslims should ride camels rather than be allowed on airliners. In 2001 Coulter said that after 9/11, Muslims should only be allowed to travel by "flying carpet."

Porn Producer Michael Lucas Tangled With Ann Coulter At GOProud's Homocon

Michael Lucas, the press release-happy porn producer and rabid Zionist neocon wants you to know that he totally got in Ann Coulter's face at Homocon 2010. Via his publicist: "Ann Coulter outraged attendees at Homocon this past weekend and got into a screaming argument with gay porn mogul Michael Lucas who refused to back down! Ann is seen caught red handed lying and her handlers had to intervene."

The PR firm attached a file of the exchange and I've uploaded it to YouTube. Lucas' accent makes him a bit difficult to understand, but it seems like he's trying to get Coulter to state whether she believes homosexuality is chosen. Coulter: "I'm not answering until you give me money." That's GOProud's Christopher Barron trying to shut Lucas down.

Coulter Fallout

The major Republican candidates are distancing themselves from Ann Coulter's attack on John Edwards. A spokesman for Mitt Romney, who claims that although Romney introduced Coulter, he was not in the room when she spoke, says, “It was an offensive remark. Governor Romney believes all people should be treated with dignity and respect.” Rudy Giuliani said, “The comments were completely inappropriate and there should be no place for such name-calling in political debate.” John McCain, who did not attend the CPAC conference, said, “The comments were wildly inappropriate." Contrary to earlier reports, Dick Cheney was not in the audience.

John Edwards is already trying to spin Coulter's attack into a fundraising tool, asking supporters to contribute $100,000 in "Coulter Cash". Coulter herself has tried to downplay her remarks, telling the NY Times that she was joking, saying, "I would never insults gays by comparing them to John Edwards. That would be mean." (Anybody buying that?)

It's satisfying to see the Republicans repudiate Ann Coulter in this instance. What will be interesting will to be to see who hires her next. It seems that any future alliances with Coulter could be seen as a de facto endorsement of her views. That never bothered the Republicans before now, but dare we hope that she's finally crossed the line, even for them?

Ann Coulter: Kill Meghan McCain

Ann Coulter may have finally gone too far.
In a column published on Thursday, conservative pundit Ann Coulter joked that the killing of politicians’ children should “start with Meghan McCain.” Earlier this week, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MA) told MSNBC host Martin Bashir that he was sensitive to the need for more gun control because his nephew had been shot and killed several years ago.

Bashir suggested that members of Congress should not have to experience the death of a family member to understand that gun violence was a problem. “But Congressman, is that what needs to happen to move these senators to stop threatening a filibuster?” Bashir asked. “Is that really what needs to happen? That you need to have a member of your family killed in order for you to do what the American people want you to do?”

Conservative websites interpreted Bashir’s statement to mean that he was advocating the murder of politicians’ family members. And on Thursday, Coulter decided it would be funny to suggest the daughter of Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) should be the first to die.
It will be interesting to see which news channel will next be willing to book Coulter.

GOProud Member Taylor Garrett Claims Another Hate Crime Over Ann Coulter

GOProud member and Logo reality show cast member Taylor Garrett is once again claiming to be a victim of a hate crime because of his political views. Last month Garrett claimed that a rock was thrown through his window because he'd dined with Ann Coulter. That alleged incident, which was conveniently timed to coincide with the debut episode of The A List: Dallas, was widely derided across the gay blogosphere as having been staged. The show's producer even tweeted congratulations to Garrett for creating a buzz for the show with his claim.

According to this latest claim, on Friday night a mysterious "large man" was waiting by Garrett's car outside a party he was attending. From Daily Caller, the website of notorious homophobe Tucker Carlson:
A cast member of the gay reality TV show “A-List Dallas” tells The Daily Caller that he was punched to the ground and bloodied Friday night by someone vandalizing his car because he’s a gay conservative associated with commentator Ann Coulter. Taylor Garrett, a Republican consultant in Texas who stars in the reality series on the channel LOGO TV, said in an interview that he was attacked outside a birthday party in Dallas after finding a vandal scratching “F–k Coulter” on the side of his car. Garrett said the incident reflects a troubling mindset. The Democrats want me to live on their plantation as their slave, because I’m a gay person,” he said. “And I refuse to do that.” Photos provided by Garrett to TheDC show the phrase about Coulter keyed in large letters across his car. Other photos show Garrett with a bloody ear and blood covering his white shirt.
Garrett says he's being targeted because he's brave enough to show the world that he's a gay conservative Christian. One must wonder if Eugene Delgaudio is writing for Logo these days.

RELATED: Last week Garrett received the "Youth Leadership Award" from the Greater Metroplex Republican Club, the gay GOP group reformed in Dallas after the Log Cabin Republicans dissolved their local chapter in a racism-fueled scandal. GOProud founders Chris Barron and Jimmy LaSalvia attended the event.

Ann Coulter Joins GOProud

From GOProud's press release:
Coulter’s official title will be “Honorary Chair and Gay Icon.” “Ann Coulter is a brilliant and fearless leader of the conservative movement, we are honored to have her as part of GOProud’s leadership,” said Christopher Barron, Chairman of GOProud’s Board. “Ann helped put our organization on the map. Politics is full of the meek, the compromising and the apologists – Ann, like GOProud, is the exact opposite of all of those things. We need more Ann Coulters.” “I am honored to serve in this capacity on GOProud’s Advisory Council, and look forward to being the Queen of fabulous,” said Coulter.
Coulter opposes same-sex marriage, ENDA, hate crimes laws, the repeal of DADT, and pretty much any LGBT rights legislation. Therefore, she's a perfect fit for the kapos at GOProud.

Ann Coulter: I'm A Hate Crime Victim

In advance of Ann Coulter's speech tonight at the University of Ottawa, a school administrator has emailed her with a caution that she should remember that Canada's laws about hate speech are much more restrictive than in the United States. Coulter says that was a hate crime and she is filing a complaint.
Speaking to students and academics at the University of Western Ontario on Monday night, Ms. Coulter said the email sent to her on Friday by François Houle, vice-president academic and provost of the University of Ottawa, targeted her as a member of an identifiable group and as such, she will be filing a complaint with the Human Rights Commission alleging hate speech. "I'm sure the Human Rights Commission will get to the bottom of it," Ms. Coulter said to loud cheers from the 800-strong audience. "I think I'm the victim of a hate crime here. Either what [Mr. Houle] did was a hate crime, or the whole commission is B.S." In Mr. Houle's email, a copy of which was obtained by the National Post, the administrator urges Ms. Coulter to weigh her words with "respect and civility in mind" when she speaks at the University of Ottawa campus on Tuesday.
During last night's speech in Ontario, Coulter ridiculed gay rights activists for comparing their struggles to the civil rights movement.

Ann Coulter Investigated For Voter Fraud

This will probably come to nothing, but Ann Coulter is being investigated for voting in Connecticut while living in New York. Via NY Daily News:
Following our Jan. 11 column, Connecticut’s Elections Enforcement Commission is making a “thorough investigation” of whether the conservative pundit broke the law by voting in the Nutmeg State while living in New York City, according to a commission spokeswoman. Officials are responding to a formal complaint filed by Coulterwatch.com blogger Dan Borchers. “For over 10 years, Ann Coulter has gotten away with illegal, immoral and unethical behavior, ranging from plagiarism to defamation, perjury to voter fraud,” claims the conservative Borchers. Coulter declined to comment, but in the past has branded Borchers a stalker. He says the FBI has determined he poses no threa

GOProud Defends Ann Coulter's Joke About Parents Disowning Gay Sons

Yesterday GLAAD denounced Ann Coulter's tweet making fun of gay kids who get disowned by their parents.  Today, as he does every time GLAAD is mentioned, GOProud's Chris Barron responded with, "But...but...JOE JERVIS!"  Via the Advocate:
Coulter ally and GOProud cofounder Christopher Barron, however, told The Advocate on Wednesday, that GLAAD was overreacting to the author's joke. He added that he knows Coulter personally, and that she "has been a strong ally of gay conservatives. Indeed, Ann has gone into the lion's den at places like CPAC to make the case that gay people should be welcomed in the conservative movement. The criticism of Ann by an organization like GLAAD is laughable." Barron criticized the organization for honoring blogger Joe Jervis of JoeMyGod.com after he and GOProud's leaders engaged in a verbal battle in recent years. "As long as GLAAD thinks that is acceptable they can spare me the trumped-up selective outrage over a joke made by Ann. Putting GLAAD in charge of what passes as acceptable or unacceptable discourse is a little bit like putting a pyromaniac in charge of the fire department."
As a reminder, here's what Chris Barron thinks about the vast majority of LGBT Americans: "The gay left = the American Taliban. Hateful, angry and dumb as shit."

CONNECTICUT: GOProud BFF Ann Coulter May Face Felony Voter Fraud Charges

Complaints about Ann Coulter's habit of voting in states where she doesn't live have been around for years, but stalling by friendly election officials and the statute of limitations resulted in no charges. That may change.
An elections commission in Connecticut will soon decide if conservative pundit Ann Coulter will face felony charges over allegations of voter fraud in the 2002 and 2004 elections, reports Brad Friedman at BradBlog. The State Elections Enforcement Commission will vote Oct. 14 to decide whether to pursue charges based on a complaint made by Daniel Borchers, an activist with Citizens for Principled Conservatism. Borchers cited a report in the New York Daily News alleging that Coulter illegally voted in Connecticut in the 2002 and 2004 elections by way of absentee ballot from her home in New York.
The penalty is usually a civil fine, but can be up to several years in prison.

Jeff Gannon Redux

If you are familiar with Cpl. Matt Sanchez, you probably know him as the handsome 36-year old Columbia University junior and USMC reservist who recently made the rounds of right-wing talk shows like O'Reilly Factor and Hannity & Colmes, where he received praise for coming forward and complaining about his treatment at the hands of Columbia's "radical anti-military students" who called him names and mocked his military service. Sanchez was then feted at the CPAC conference where Ann Coulter made her "faggot" remark. Sanchez wrote an op-ed piece on the Columbia experience for the NY Post and began a blog and MySpace page chronicling his media exposure.

Now, if you're like me, you might think, "Hmm, 36 years old and he's a junior in college and only a corporal in the Marines?" Odd, but not totally implausible. But Sanchez' face tinkled a few gay bells out there in fairyland, and last night I began to get emails letting me know that his rather late appearance on the Ivy League scene was because Sanchez has had a lengthy career in gay porn, working under the names Rod Majors (NSFW) and Pierre LaBranche, starring in such art films as Jawbreaker, Donkey Dick, and Glory Holes Of Fame 3, where his "11-inch uncut monster cock" earned him a devoted following.

Now, porn stars are entitled to enter the miliary, although Sanchez obviously had to do it on the downlow. Porn stars are entitled to have a right-wing ideology, even though the very people he supports would love to see gay porn stars strung up by the nuts. (Wait, have I seen that movie?) But, Oh.The.Irony. of Sanchez appearing with Bill O'Reilly who only a couple of days went apoplectic over San Francisco's "Colt Studio Day." And OH, the irony of Ann "Faggot" Coulter happily posing with Sanchez for a photo-op. The right-wing has gobbled this porn hunk up with a spoon, never knowing that tons of men have gobbled up his monster cock ON FILM. I love it, I love it, I love it.

Thanks to those that tipped me to this story. In particular, please visit the blog of Tom Bacchus, who has written a thoroughly hilarious post on Matt Sanchez/Rod Majors/Pierre LaBranche, with many totally NSFW photos. Now let's all watch how Coulter, Malkin, O'Reilly, etc try and spin THIS one. This is gonna be good.

UPDATE: Sanchez also writes Amazon reviews under his own name, where he plugs a book called Facercise, which he credits for changing his appearance. Here's a 1998 interview he did for porn studio Kristen Bjorn.

UPDATE II: Sanchez appears to have commented on this post, below. I emailed him an interview request and he's agreed. Stand by.

UPDATE III: I just had a 35-minute phone call with Matt Sanchez, in which he was very candid and friendly. We spoke about a wide-range of topics: freedom of speech at Columbia, the Marine Corps, the gay porn industry, Ann Coulter, Bill O'Reilly, Chi Chi Larue, his upcoming book and the CPAC conference. Matt has promised to respond via email to the set of questions that I sent him, and I will post his responses unedited tomorrow. If his responses are as candid and thought-provoking as our conversation, it should prove fascinating. Sanchez is no dumb bunny.

UPDATE IV: Email from Sanchez @ 4:21pm: "Wow, who knew a little award and a couple of pictures would get me all this attention? Death threats, hate mail and plenty of strangers who want to be my "friend"--and it's not even 4 pm!!! I'm going to be writing a piece and posting it on this site by tomorrow. You'll forgive me for the delay, but between this week's midterms, my full-time job and working out at the gym, there's just not enough time in the day." Same message on his blog, Cpl. Matt Sanchez, plus a pic of Coulter.

UPDATE V: I have interviewed Matt Sanchez here.

World Net Daily Dumps Ann Coulter Over GOProud Homocon Appearance

World Net Daily has "dumped" Ann Coulter (their word) from her scheduled keynote appearance at their coming annual hatefest in Miami because of her plan to headline GOProud's Quisling confab in NYC next month.
Joseph Farah, editor and chief executive officer of WND, said the decision was a gut-wrenching one for his team because of their fondness for Coulter as both a person and writer-speaker. "Ultimately, as a matter of principle, it would not make sense for us to have Ann speak to a conference about 'taking America back' when she clearly does not recognize that the ideals to be espoused there simply do not include the radical and very 'unconservative' agenda represented by GOProud," said Farah. "The drift of the conservative movement to a brand of materialistic libertarianism is one of the main reasons we planned this conference from the beginning."

Asked by Farah why she was speaking to GOProud, Coulter said: "They hired me to give a speech, so I'm giving a speech. I do it all the time." Farah then asked: "Do you not understand you are legitimizing a group that is fighting for same-sex marriage and open homosexuality in the military – not to mention the idea that sodomy is just an alternate lifestyle?" Coulter responded: "That's silly, I speak to a lot of groups and do not endorse them. I speak at Harvard and I certainly don't endorse their views. I've spoken to Democratic groups and liberal Republican groups that loooove abortion. The main thing I do is speak on college campuses, which is about the equivalent of speaking at an al-Qaida conference. I'm sure I agree with GOProud more than I do with at least half of my college audiences. But in any event, giving a speech is not an endorsement of every position held by the people I'm speaking to."
Just as with that whole CPAC nonsense, the douchebags at GOProud have again provided us with hilarious wingnut infighting. For that, at least, we can thank them.

The Beginning Of The End Of Ann Coulter

You probably heard the fun news that NBC canceled Ann Coulter's appearance on the Today Show yesterday, probably in response to her repulsive attacks on single mothers in her new book. This morning Coulter got it from both barrels from Harry Smith on CBS' Morning Show with Smith calling her "sophomoric' and "goofy" among other things. Extra Idiocy: Today Coulter says that Barack Obama shouldn't worry so much about assassination because would-be presidential murderers are "part of his base."

UPDATE: The Today Show has relented and will have Coulter on tomorrow. I guess they couldn't stand all the press Harry Smith is getting today.

Ann Coulter At Homocon 2010 : Marriage Is Not A Civil Right, You're Not BLACK

At GOProud's Homocon 2010 event in NYC last night, headliner Ann Coulter told the assembled Quislings that they had no civil right to marriage. Because, after all, they're not BLACK. Ben Smith reports at Politico:
Coulter’s presence at the event was controversial, as other gay activists pointed out that she’d made a series of anti-gay remarks — she called former presidential candidate John Edwards a "faggot" — which she explained away at the top of her speech as humor. “The people who get gay jokes are gays,” she said, adding that when she talks to Christian audience, “Out of sweetness they don’t laugh at the gay jokes.” Coulter’s jokes Tuesday riffed on the theme that GOProud doesn’t make same-sex marriage central to its appeal; it considers, Barron says, national security and the economy more important. Marriage “is not a civil right – you’re not black,” Coulter said to nervous laughter. She went on to note that gays are among the wealthiest demographic groups in the country. “Blacks must be looking at the gays saying, ‘Why can’t we be oppressed like that?’”
Politico also reports that homocon lesbian radio host Tammy Bruce compared GOProud to ACT-UP, saying the two groups "have the same energy."

Ann Coulter To Appear At National Convention Of Self-Loathing Homosexuals

Bulletin from Quisling National Headquarters:
GOProud, the only national organization representing gay conservatives and their allies, announced that conservative author Ann Coulter is headlining their first annual Homocon – a party to celebrate gay conservatives. “The gay left has done their best to take all the fun out of politics, with their endless list of boycotts and protests. Homocon is going to be our annual effort to counter the ‘no fun police’ on the left,” said Christopher Barron, Chairman of the Board of GOProud. “I can’t think of any conservative more fun to headline our inaugural party then the self-professed ‘right-wing Judy Garland’ – Ann Coulter.” “I can promise you, Homocon 2010 will be a hell of a lot more fun than chaining yourself to the White House fence,” concluded Barron.
General admission tickets are $250 to hear the woman who called a Democratic candidate for president a "faggot."

Other choice quotes from GOProud's new BFF:

On Islam: "We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity."
On Judaism: "We just want Jews to be perfected. That's what Christianity is."
On education: "Illiterate students knifing one another between acts of sodomy in the stairwell is just one of the many eggs that had to be broken to make the left's omelette of transferring power from states to the federal government."
On terrorism: "My only regret with Timothy Mcveigh is he did not go to the New York Times building.
On feminism: "I think [women] should be armed but should not vote. Women have no capacity to understand how money is earned."

Coulter Wants To See Hillary's Dead Body

Ann Coulter was on Fox News on Tuesday to say that she originally thought that Obama's recent surge in the polls was faked because the MSM was "bored" and trying to make the Democratic campaign into a "horse race." Coulter admitted to being surprised that Obama's rise in the polls was actual and that Clinton may be in trouble. Then:

Coulter: "But I won't believe it until we see the dead body."

Host John Gibson: "You don't mean that literally."

Coulter laughed and said nothing.

Gibson tried to cover for Coulter: "All right, you DON'T mean that literally. Can she lose the first two or three primaries and still emerge as the candidate?"

Coulter: "It's possible. I would love to see this national pestilence finished off once and for all. The primary would be great. If not, I'll take the general election."

RELATED: Coulter has also wished for the death of John Edwards.

Stop Scaring Ann Coulter!

Poor Ann Coulter is so upset by her hate mail that she has had her address removed from the public record in Palm Beach County, Florida. People who petition the county can have their homes removed from the property appraisers' rolls if they can demonstrate they are the victims of stalking or harassment.
Coulter, 45, has called Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards a ''faggot'' and said she wished he would be killed by terrorists. She once said President Clinton ''could be a lunatic'' and wrote of a group of widows of men killed in the World Trade Center that she had 'never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much.''

So maybe it came as no surprise when somebody delivered a greeting card to her home in March with this salutation: ``You self-aggrandizing -- sociopath!! The only thing left after a nuclear war are you and cockroaches.''
So far the extent of the harassment appears to be a rather mild phone call, a "go fuck yourself" letter, and an unseen person calling her a "cunt" from the yard next door. But as we know, the internet is forever and having one's name removed from a property appraiser's list doesn't exactly make one invisible. More to come on this, I'm sure. Anyway, what's Coulter so afraid of? Didn't she just announce that she wished the Islamists would issue a fatwa on her? And now she's worried about a couple of curse words?

Ann Coulter To Appear On The A-List

The most repulsive woman in the world is going to appear on the worst show in the history of television. That seems rather appropriate. Via Logo:
Hold on to your cowboy hats kids because there is a big surprise coming up on The A-List Dallas — an appearance from none other than Ms. Ann Coulter. While Ms. Coulter’s political viewpoints are a frequent source of debate, she has always been somewhat supportive of the gay community. In fact, Go Proud, the conservative gay organization, recently named Coulter “Honorary Chair and Gay Icon.” Gay Icon being the highest order in most political organizations – next to Class Treasurer and Historian.
Logo's entire announcement reads as if it was written by GOProud.

Ann Coulter To Sean Hannity: Liberalism Is On The Spectrum Of Mental Illness

Mediaite recaps:
Ann Coulter joined Sean Hannity Monday night to talk about liberal media hypocrisy in the politics of mass shooters. Coulter echoed sentiments made by Rush Limbaugh that most school shooters are “inspired” by leftism, and even went so far as to say “liberalism is on the spectrum of mental illness.” They were reacting to The Denver Post stealth-editing the word “socialist” the word “socialist” out of a profile for the Arapahoe shooter, saying this never would have happened if he was right-wing. Coulter said it’s always “crazy people” involved and on the left in particular, because “the left has a 200-year history of engaging in violence.”

Wingnuts Turn On Ann Coulter

As the right-wing factions of the GOP continue to eat their own, this week they turned on Ann Coulter after she announced on Fox News that Republicans should work with Obama on tax hikes for the wealthy. Breitbart is furious:
According to Coulter, it is more important now, for PR purposes, to cave on this fundamental principle, lest the media blame Republicans for the pending fiscal cliff disaster. She doesn't seem concerned about the PR disaster that will ensue within the fractious Republican Party. Toward the end of the verbal ping-pong match, and exasperated Hannity said to Coulter, "You are scaring me. You are giving in to this narrative." It's hard to disagree with him, on both counts. As Andrew Breitbart warned, the rhetoric of Occupy has clearly become part of the mainstream political debate, even sucking in some conservatives.
The comments at the link are hilarious.
